Hello good people of Newgrounds,

Indeed, it has been a while since I last uploaded a piece of music. I've been busy with school and stuff, so I'm slightly less active when it comes to composing music.

/blog

Oké, about the song. I decided it was time for something epic again. I always wanted to create a musical piece which effectively combined rock elements with classical elements. I wasn't able to do this with reason 4, however... Sonar 8 gives me the opportunity to finally create realistic guitar sounds. Yay!

Technical stuff:

Software used: Sonar 8 Producer Edition
Tempo in bpm: 100
Time signature: 4/4
Key signature: A minor

Hope you guys like it. If you have any suggestions, please let me now! Any feedback is very much appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

Epic

1.) Yes this does sound pretty damn epic. I really like the intro to this piece. It seems to build nicely but I think when it get to its climax it doesn't seem to let loose... or that's how I hear it anyways. We are all different and this is obviously what you heard.

2.) I like the beat. Seems to really drive this.

3.) Overall good song in my opinion, but the ending to me doesn't sound nearly strong enough for a song like this. Don't get me wrong it's not bad but I kept hearing a big and dramatic ending.

-We all have different opinions on everything but it actually was a damn good song. Good job!

EagleGuard responds:

Glad you liked it ;) I guess the ending could've been a bit more 'dramatic'. I'll think about the next time I write something epicly epic. Also, climaxes are on the top of my list as well.

And don't worry, I value (almost) all opinions ;)

Thanks for te review!

Great combination

The idea behind it reminds me of the NEST theme from Transformers 2. Mixing guitars and heavy drums into an orchestral song, adding more "cool" to the theme. I liked how it was still very dramatic. Can you make another version focusing on the rock part more than the little string interludes? I have a feeling that this can become a hard-rocking, yet still dramatic, song, like the NEST Theme.

EagleGuard responds:

Thanks! =) Unfortunately, I don't usually change my own songs, unless it involves adding/changing smaller details. I might create something similiar though in the future. I'll focus more on the rock part then ;)

Thanks for the review!

Perfect.... almost.

it a fantastic song, almost perfect.
the only reason this is not 10/10 is that it could be a little sped up.
it would have been great if it packed a little more punch.

EagleGuard responds:

Hmm, oké, but a higher tempo means a shorter song duration =p

Thanks for the review!

cool song

everything about this song is well...perfect. Nice blend of instruments and you chose the right points (in my opinion) to cut off the drums and when to come back in. Adds great atmosphere and emotion to the song. I could see this being in a movie or something. Good job

5/5

EagleGuard responds:

Thank you, glad I got those things right =p Thanks for the review!
