Rig - Fire Fight

JordanD and I are at a game jam at the moment with about 20 other people; we're each making a game for this public arcade console that'll be installed in a local college. Our game is called Fire Fighters, in which guys with fiery hands and feet fight each other. This is the loop that'll play during all the ACTION.

I couldn't bring my big fancy computer to the jam, so this was composed on my netbook. It's pretty challenging to be again limited by processing power and screen size, but fun as well. You sure need to be creative with such limitations. As a result, all of the synths were made with 3xOsc (one of the pads is a tweaked sample, though) and few FX were used.

I'm keeping my big fancy computer, though.

EDIT - Crisped things up a bit.

Wow! Very fantastic! do you think i could use this song and some other songs of yours for my fighting game?

Epic

This is Epic man keep it up

IT ALMOST SEEMS LIKE SOME KIND OF HYPER BEAT?!

BRING ME THE FAST PACED ACTION...WITH A DASH OF CYBER TECHNO EMO'SH!

Jealous once again.

It always surprises me how amazing you are at making such the simplest little plugin like 3xOsc with some effects on top of it sound so not basic. When ever I try to make my own sound, I end up just having some retarded square or saw wave with just pitch/modulation bend. It's like all I know to do lol.

You have definitely mastered the art of synthesis my friend.

The EQ'ing is a little odd to me, not horrible or anything, but it can be better. It seems a little flat (stereo, not like highs and lows), maybe pan more things a little bit more drastically?

This is damn excellent for a game jam, I bet everyone was excited to have you on their fuckin team. Perfect music for a fighting game. Awesome melody and chord progressions btw.

Rig responds:

Yeah, the EQing could be better. My excuse is that I was wearing open-backed headphones in a noisy room, so THERE.
The stereo spread is pretty close in because it'll be played through arcade cabinet speakers. When you're gaming, you're not paying attention to the spread, you're paying attention to the screen. That's called MASTERING. :3

And yeah, my team said the best part about the game was the music, hehe.

Thanks for the review!

Ouch!

NOOOO!!!! FIRE HANDS!!!!

Sweet sweet loop lol.

Rig responds:

They're not fun to high-five.
