Remember Lurien? The sweet, innocent girl who was just freaking huggable and never looked sad without a good reason? Well guess what: dark magic has taken over her body, and now she is in no uncertain terms trying to kill you. This song is intended to drive home the horror and sadness of having to kill your lifelong friend in order to save your own selfish skin; I purposefully included the main melody from Lurien's Triumph, just in case you forgot exactly who you were forced to fight.

Moving at the beginning, epic for the rest,

This song is heartwrenching in the beginning, I almost crie- I mean MY BALLS GREW 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER.

Well, maybe not during that part, but I definitely thought I felt some growth when the main melody got underway. Fucking epic, takes me back to the good ol' days of VG music.

This fits perfectly with the theme you described in your comments, and all in all, I don't have an ounce of criticism for this song. Praise? Plenty.

5/5 10/10 faved.

You know, I can't quite put my finger on why I like your reviews so much. Maybe it's because you're in that upper 10% of people who take time with them. Kudos, sir.

Great Song

Fits the mood completely. If this ever has visuals to match the story it would be pretty amazing.

diffrent song?

@ 1:19... suddenly a new song? O_O
the transitions are quite bad in this song but the song is just great and has an extreme mood to it, i was moved.

i would recomend keeping the chello on 1:19 and let chello play the bass for a while so it fits some more together... main idea... keep something of the old so it keeps connected instead of a 0.01 second transition.

but overal GREAT mood. and really send shivers down my spine.

masterjiji responds:

The transition at 1:19 is supposed to be that way, because it goes from a sort of "Are you okay?" mood to a "HOLY SHIT SHE IS TRYING TO KILL ME HOW DID SHE JUST DO THAT" mood.

This is.... great..

The beginning did give this a great intro, it started with giving this a really sad beginning..
Then at 0.59, the whole mood changes, seems like something bad is going to happen...
at 1.19, the whole thing seems video gamey, seems like an epic fight scene has sprouted out from this sadness.
Honestly, the transition at 0.59 isn't really that smooth, but it works.
I really like the last part, the synths you used are great, really creates a video gamey mood.
But it seems at 2.26, the synth seems to be dissonant, but I think that was how the song was intended.
What I really appreciate are the drum beats, I don't think i can make something like that..
Great job!! You really did a good job creating a mood throughout the song.

masterjiji responds:

I appreciate these long reviews! Been a while since I posted, so it's nice to get good feedback. What I was aiming for was the following:

Intro: Lurien realizes that whatever force is inside her mind has slowly won against her own consciousness. Ideally after all the main characters have undergone some drawn-out measure to counteract this, she must tell everyone that all their effort has been in vain, and that they have lost. Lurien only has time for a few last words before her body will no longer be hers.
0:57 : Lurien is trying to admit something she has been hiding for a long while, such as "I love you" to one of the other characters, but is cut off mid-sentence as dark magic suddenly thrums through her mind. She can only say "I love y-" before she cries out and begins to thrash and scream, losing her mind and body forever. She momentarily falls still until one of the other characters reaches out a hand to her.

1:19 : Lurien leaps to her feet and begins attacking those she once called her friends, screaming curses in a language that fouls the ears and calling upon vile powers she never had in life. The rest of the song displays the incredible mental duress of the other characters as they must suddenly fight for their lives against an unreasoning killing machine they once called an ally.

2:16 : This is just me being a dick. I purposefully brought in Lurien's Triumph in a minor key, just in case you forgot who you were being forced to kill. At 2:26,the synth changes slightly to be more distorted, representing the ultimate corruption that has infected this innocent life before you.

Also, my brother is a metal drummer, so that's how I know a few beats.
