You know the game Sword Master for NES? That fine-ass intro song it had? Yeah, I found that game from some corner I had left it for years, and popped it in to see if it still works. And damn is it a hard game.

This is a tribute to that exact asskickery that made me into a sadistic bastard that I am now.

Added to Favorites? Oh hell yeah.

The intensity of the song makes up for the short length.

Awesome cover, awesome work, awesome sound. You're on my favorites for a very good reason, dude!
By the way, what plug-ins are you using for the guitars? I'm using FreeAmp 3, currently. It works great, but I want to explore all options before settling on something.

Devastus responds:

Thanks! I dunno whether I've responded through a PM or not, I have not knowingly ignored the question however :P

To answer it: I have happened to stumble upon a great, great site that has a variety of free amp sims that only require some good impulses to go with. This particular song is using those things. Google "LePou Plugins" and you'll find it, they're immensely awesome, I hardly even use commercial products anymore. The impulses are a bit harder to find, check the author comments in "Free Ride" song at my audio list to get atleast a good all-around pack for metal guitaring.

Cool! very nice!!!! great!

damn dude, i've always loved this song! i remember the first time i beat this game, i was so fucking proud, haha. awesome work, sounds great. you just made my day \m/

Jesus man!

F*ckin' badass intro that shit is strong and just jumps out and HUMPS your ears!!!

:D This is good! Heavy, rockin' nice drums, ... yeah bro you got me all thumbs up, how'd you make this?

(sick middle part with the evil organ and... jeez dude 5/5/5/5/5 favorite + download )

PROPS :) i wish i had skills like this kid.

Devastus responds:

Thanks alot man! It actually took me a longer time to do than usual since I was using Reaper as my DAW for the first time, old one kept crashing so much that I got tired of it :P I recommend checking it out, didn't crash once and has quite an intuitive user interface.

Got the perfect opportunity to test some other things aswell. The guitar tones are digi-amplified through FREE plugins, something I wouldn't have believed to hear and experience myself! I also did a new mix from scratch, wanted to get that "soundwall" feeling for that middle part :P

Thank you for the review! I recommend checking the Sword Master game too, it's a gem from the past (although hard as hell :P).
