this is the last of 3 medlies from the mega man 8-bit concept album. a single song has been excised from this and will instead just be its own upload on here. there's a throwback track on here, and obviously, i don't own the song i'm rearranging. if you know mega man, you'll know which one it is when it gets there (i even changed up the soundset to sound more classic for it). saying again: i don't claim to own the original song (it's from 3), only to have rearranged it into its current state.

one more time (robot rematches)
the long fall (shots are locked until you reach the bottom and pass through the door)
kossack machine (turns out there is no wily. kossack has had a goal shift. thinking he could actually succeed in doing this, he bet his career, his life, and his daughter on it. bad form, doc)
kossack machine 2 (things get worse after the doctor realizes he can't win and he's ruined his life and the life of his daughter)

when you win, there's a bit of dialogue, with kossack explaining how his life has seemingly turned upside-down for him, and how he felt the best way to secure his and his daughter's security was to capture roll and replicate her technology (which is actually something special). instead of simply copying roll, he instead began plans for taking over all robot kind using the data in her head to make them all turn on humans with an update. he would be the hero to disable them all, saving the world and accepting all the praise and funding. kossack thought it would work, and took all the chances for the sake of giving his daughter a better life. beaten and a battered individual, he accepts his fate and openly complies to be taken to get help.

i know this takes a character and flips him in the canon, but whatever. if i recall, this is simply a game that doesn't exist, right?

the track from 3 needs the resonance lowered, definitely...



What software did you use to make this? If you don't mind me asking :)

i use sonar (cakewalk) to actually make it out, but i used VSTs that emulate PSG and noise, one of which is a replica of the NES/FAMICOM soundchip.

dreamstation dxi (all manners of instruments and effects)
triforce (NES synth device)
toad (for various percussion things)
famisynth (awesome soundset with built in parameters you can play with)

in general, i only replicate the sound, not necessarily the methods an NES would follow to create the sounds, but i did follow all the rules in the end.
