Renegade Space Station

So this one was super hard to EQ -- please let me know if you have any issues with how I did :)

The first section is about a lone crew member who has hijacked the space station he works on. He's filled with a bitter rage, because he has been told he can't come back down to Earth for another 6 months due to extra maintenance being required on the vessel. He is so mad, he's piloting it away from Earth, in to unknown space.

In the second part, he starts to see many things he hasn't seen before, like distant black holes and other planets. He begins to have a change of heart after witnessing the magnificence of these beautiful celestial objects, but quickly realizes he has already sealed his own fate, as the space station has been pulled in to the orbit of what appears to be some sort of wormhole.

The third section is about the crew member severely regretting his actions, just before being sucked in to oblivion, along with his stolen craft. The final synth part in the last 20 seconds or so is the moment of impact with the actual wormhole.

That was obviously not an intelligent move on his part lol.

Thanks mate :)

Works nice with the story

A good track with a great story, and what you wrote down in the author's comments really fits the track.

The use of synths throughout the song enhances the feel that you're in space, and the drums, though somewhat repetitive, makes the song flow rather nice.

I'm not exactly sure where the different parts end and stop, but I can somewhat guess. IF you could make these transitions a bit more prominent, that'd be great.

The drum samples used aren't the great. The clap, and one of the other sounds which I don't know the name for in English, sounds a bit generic. See if you could get some other samples.

Birdinator99 responds:

While I'm glad that the story part worked for you, I intended the transitions to be smooth and almost mysterious, to fit in with the space theme.

I know the drums are bad XD I've got better kits/samples coming to me soon. I don't even know if the clap you're describing is a clap (it's listed as a snare I think :p).

Thanks very much for listening!

Yayz

-Drums-
Well you couldn't really hear it that much with everything else going on but I loved it.Also the light symbol tapping was giving a nice effect on the song. There could of been a little more drum sounds though

-Violin-
I heard it a lot which I would of liked to hear more of a rock and roll song. But it was ok it just made the song more calm..I would of like more of the other sounds though.

-Improvements-
I just would of liked to see it more fast moving

Birdinator99 responds:

Sorry; I usually mix my drums too loud, so I might have overcompensated this time. Also, no violins were used -- if you're talking about the lead synth, which sounds the most like a violin to me, then yea, it probably was overplayed a little at the least.

Oh lol I can't make a song fast enough to please anyone XD

Thanks for reviewing!

Cool storytelling

-The first section starts out kind of glitchy but quickly turns into a spacy melody. Not as dark as I anticipated but it's atmospheric nonetheless and evokes a drifting off picture in my head. Great progression that eventually lead to a slow transition into the second phase of his adventure.

-Many suttle beats incorporated and i'm guessing this signifies his discoveries and overall realization that he has made a mistake. I liked the effects used and it gave some variation that was well needed. Despite being progressive the song moved a bit slow.

Thanks very much -- I'm glad the story part worked for you!

This was supposed to be my fast song lol. 165 BPM = fail haha

Saw waves!

I know you love saw waves, and these ones weren't bad at all. In fact they fitted really well, especially loved the vibrato on the saw-lead. . Dude when I heard the first part I was like OMG YOU DID A GLITCH TUNE, but sadly it wasn't. . Not that that was a bad thing. Once again, you've outdone yourself, and I can't fault this. I'dve maybe smoothed it out a bit, but I'm a smooth synth kinda guy but honestly I love it.
It's a shame I was donwload #16 and not download #1 D:! How silly.

Love the transitions, they worked very well. I seriously wish I would have made this. . I'd love to maybe collaberate with you and even do a rendition of this tune with your permission (I dunno if I could pull it off to be honest) seriously I got so many ideas when I heard this. Very well done, you're moving up the bar!

Random fun fact: My favourite music artist is Canadian too heheheheheheheh rawr.

Birdinator99 responds:

Yay for saw waves!

Feel free to remix any of my songs -- as for collaborating, you'd have to PM me, because I don't know how it would be done :p

See, the thing is, 1/2 the time I'm making music, I'm not sure how I did what I just did (I think it's because Mixcraft is glitchy lol).

Anyway, I'm really glad you liked it, so thanks for the kind words!
England and Canada unite! XD
