Electronic - Ambient

Author Comments

The sequel of Ice Crystals ( m/audio/listen/93442).

EDIT: I just realized this sounds a bit like the game EVE-Online o.o Just goes to show how much I play the game haha.

WARNING: Laptop speakers are generally incapable of hearing the subwoofer-level bass line that has been written. I suggest that you listen to this on a full surround speaker system or at least something that can play bass sounds.

An excellent ambient song that can be used in a multitude of videos and video games. I was wondering if for any reason that your content can be used (with proper recognition of course)? I would be honoured to have such a beautiful piece of work in a creation of mine that I plan on getting to work on later this year (need a new computer heh).

As for the song itself; the blend of soft "ice" or "crystal" like sounds mixed with the spacial / deep tones is excellent. It lets the mind wander into the stars above - where all people of all colours can dream together as one. - A bit deep? I think not!

5/5 - Congratulations - I still love this song to this day (Had it favorited for a few years now).

I love love love this tune!!!

So peaceful yet so haunting at the same time. It was the perfect tune for your game icey cave of frustration...believe me without this tune i would have thrown my laptop against the wall.

TreborLocke responds:

I didn't create the game XD Only the music :) Thanks though.

DC offset

I looked at the simplewave visualization and there is a lot of DC offset in this song, you might want to fix it for balanced headspace and that it wont sound annoying when loud. Apparently its from the arp thats starts at one minute in.

TreborLocke responds:

I'm running through similar software and the Arp at 1:00 doesn't exactly cause it. Then again, you're running an MP3 and all sorts of things can happen upon compression. Also keep in mind that many of these are sound experiments so there will be variance as I tinker.

Minimal and cool

Goes to show that you don't need to have a lot going on to achieve a mood.

The piece seems effortless; as if it flows from itself (like water in a way). The very far-off-sounding instruments give a lot of mellow, great ambiance to the piece and works very much in its favor.

Everything is panned well and unobtrusive... The only thing I can fault you for is that it ends kinda abrubpty. When it loops back, it's kinda jarring. I know this is not a loop, but I thnk you could have drawn out and faded out the ending a little bit more to give a natural finish to a very natural song.

Still a very solid effort though.

TreborLocke responds:

I'll go ahead and add in a fade. I keep meaning to do it, I'm just lazy I guess to that extent. Glad you like it.

I don't know much at all about creating music, but I listen to music a lot. This song really touched me, unlike any slow song has before. The low beats to the high pitched sounds (I really don't know what anything is called in the music realm) really balance each other, to give a wonderful feeling of pure weightlessness. Beautiful title, beautiful music, love it =)
