Unlike my previous cover of Blue Monday (found earlier in my gallery) this version is GREATLY improved upon.

One of the major improvements is the drums. Unlike the previous cover version which used a combination of Linn LM1 and misc drum samples from more modern machines, this cover used the same drum machine (or samples of) that New Order used on the original track, the famous Oberheim DMX of 1979.

The choir is the same sample New Order used, the infamous droning Choir used in Kraftwerk's "Radioactivity" from 1975, originally generated by a Melotron.

The synthetic elements in this track were improved to match those of the original more closely. Bass, Strings and Brass were all tweaked, the bass especially.

Of course the biggest change is the inclusion of dead-pan vocals from the talented Matthew Dune! AKA M-One.

The entire track has that Low Fidelity sound to it, this was because for this track I had chosen to use all early 80s mixing techniques. Analogue compressors and Parametric EQs, crunchy sampling synthesizers, Analogue Synthesizers, analogue tape delay and primitive digital reverb.

The result? That 80s fuzzy sound that just gives the track that sense of richness that can only be gotten from analogue equipment and low quality digital units.

Enjoy!

Excellent Cover

Very good cover indeed. However, I do have a few small complaints. It isn't as long as the original '83 mix, some of the synths aren't as "powerful" (particularly the clean guitar and maybe the brass?), lastly I don't like fade outs to end a song (more of a personal preference than complaint 'specially since it was in the original mixes but w/e).

Minor complaints aside, I thoroughly enjoy your cover. In fact, I like the vocals more than those in the original song. Tell Mr. Dune he did a good job for me. Make more music, man. You're doin' justice for New Order but not the year 2011. :/

Pretty unique

I like this jam.
The beats are great, nothing that would be a turnoff.
Keep up the great work, man!

Start, Great.

I Like The Start When The Lead's Volume Was Going Up Then The Euro Trac comes in. But I Don't Like The Rest.

But the entire song is the same thing all the way through. So excuse me for being a little confused here |:
