It's like walking through a seemingly abandoned factory on an alien world, or even deep in the depths of the Earth.. No life seems to be there, but the machinery is still running. The sound of grinding gears in the distance, and the lack of life gives you this great feeling of uneasiness.
If you are going for a normal pop beat, the secret is to have a steady pulse right at the bottom.. Like a metronome. The
oonst oonst ooonst" of techno, or the "Boom bap boom bap" of some rock music, etc. What makes it sound "normal" though is that notes tend to gravitate towards that steady beat.
When the music doesn't land on this steady beat, it creates a type of dissonance that the average person doesn't care for, unless this dissonance is resolved. Most people are looking for music that you can dance or fuck to.(and what is fucking but a more intimate form of dance?) That's pretty much the core of popular music.
But hey, what do I know, I'm crazy.
Once again Olde Cosmic, another flattering opinion. I thank you. Interesting take on the Robots and the emptiness. This was originally meant to be a swinging jazz piece haha full of joy and hope. Seems to have turned into the exact opposite. I was trying to make my guitar sound more like a trumpet. That fell flat haha.
Ahhh of course! I shall try it with my next piece, which will be proper as! I mean some real 'Kubrickan' thought will be put into it.
Ahhh right you are with the dancing and the fucking. I think that dancing isn't really dancing when you feel it and shit. Your're more like, making love to the music. Therefore I think I'll br brilliant at making love... Oooooooooh baby.
Was that crazy or do you get that? :P
