W.i.P (work in progress).

This is the second version.
I still have my first version on this account.
You might want to check it out before listening to this one.

EDITS I'VE MADE :

- The intro bass is now more crispy and louder
- Changed the percussion a bit troughout the song
- Increased the main melody volume
- Removed offbeat notes
- Increased the trance pike volume at the end a lot.

It hasn't become a second longer than version 1 lol.
I hope i can increase its length at version 2

Thanks for listening,
I always like more constructive criticm !

Nice dude :)

I like a lot your "crispy" bass at the begining. I think the lead and the pad are just fine but for the drum part you shouldn't drop the kick at the begining (it's feeling more powerfull when you drope it after) try instead to make a build up with a snare rythm also btw make your snare/clap/cymabal/everything drum part else than kick "dryer". Otherwise keep going it already pretty awesome :)

I know this melody

Isn't this like a vengeance melody or something?!?
Anyways the end was quite impressive!

Endeavour responds:

Vengeance melody ?. not that I know =P
It is on youtube though,
I listened to it and replaced the notes.
Ofc i changed it a lot.

Thanks for the review,
Endeavour

Good attempt.

You like constructive criticism:
Mastering needs to be improved quite a lot, the song is lacking a lot of punch. Also, the bass is not mixed in there very well, try maybe taking off a bit of high end? Drum FX isn't extremely great either (hihats could use some reverb, clap/snare sounds very dry).

What program was this made in?

5'd

Endeavour responds:

thanks for the very constructive review teknetic =).
Yes i totally agree with you about the bass, i dont like it either.
It actually has sidechaining lol, but that's almost unnoticeable.

I made this with Fruity Loops 9 XXL =P

Thanks in advance,
Endeavour

Brilliant

I loved it, particularly the last 30 or so seconds.

Endeavour responds:

thanks ANAMII,
yea i agree, the last 30 seconds are the best part of my song with distance xD.
I dont feel satisfied about the intro, but no clue what to change there though.
I also want a better build up.
Yeh ill be working on this someday lol, finishing my exams first.

Endeavour.

Well well,

a great start for a trance WiP.
and since you said you always like more constructive criticm i shall try this with headphones for maximum quality.

the mixing so far seems to be good, and stays stable when the melody is being introduced.
the kick could use some more of a bass instead of a punch[attack]..
i'm not that easy in voting/reviewing so yea..

the same for the percussion/cymbals, its like it fits into this piece, but yet it doesn't xD

but thats what i said, maybe if you change the kick,
the cymbals wont lagg the kick anymore.

besides that, the melody is good but still kinda happy for me, or too basshunter if you understand me. :)

the progression was smoothly done, my compliments!
___
things that could be changed some more:
kick-bass [less attack]
percussion/cymbals, if the kick doesn't workout.
___
Thats all xD

i still give you my 5
and 9 since its a WiP!

_Timo

Endeavour responds:

Thanks D-Chain for the good review.
You are totally right about the kicks. The first part lacks bass, and the second part lacks the velocity.

Also the percussion and cymbals at the second part are present, but are very low on volume. I increased the kick volume, that might be the thing responsible for it.

Yes im going to tweak this and add it to my 3th version.
Thanks in advance,
Endeavour.
