Electronic - Ambient

Author Comments

[old work circa 2006-2007]

Ambient - glitch - etc

Remember having a good time crafting out this track. There's a remix somewhere, If i can find it. A musician under the alias "Lady Citizen" did it.

Was fun playing live - good response for the most part.

wanted to make a song with an interesting and tense build and some drums that seemingly sink in then out once they've had their way with the track. This was a personal piece as well and it felt good to get out. I went through a sort of "lullaby" phase when this was made.

have at it.

I love this...

I've been listening to this for an hour now.. and i never get tired of it.
i truly love this piece, it inspires my imagination

Lapse responds:

That's great to hear. I'm glad you like it that much. This was a pretty awesome piece for me back when I first did it. It's great that it has the effect to make you keep it on repeat. I personally try for that, or at least, hope for it. There are so many tracks that I love and listen to, over and over. Even whole albums that I've played (and nothing else) for months straight.

There are some things I wish I would've changed in this track (mainly some technical eq and mastering stuff to give it a better sound) I've been wanting to remix / redo this track for a long while. Perhaps some day.

You sure were pretty adept at the FL studio back in 2006. I think this a testament to how skilled at producing you are. Despite the out of the box FL samples, this is still very good. Good ol' reversed piano samples have a strong emotional effect for some reason.. on me at least. The drums are kind of meh.. but we're talking 4 years ago here, so yeah. No point in criticism here. I just wanna say that this song captures great atmosphere; almost mystically. oh laud.. if you threw out that drum part and added a chorus or some sort of chord progression to the piano, (and perhaps updated the song in its entirety to reflect your current skill) then this piece would be.. awsum..

Thanks for listening Rawr,

Yeah man, It'd be fun to go back and revamp this - throw out some of the stock FL tools I was using. I, surprisingly, still have most of the work files for this. It'd be a fun experiment, if anything. I guess it'll stay in it's sketch format for now. Thanks for checking it out, though.

(I'm a sucker for the backwards myself)

Great if you want it to be.

Now this track...
I could imagine it's the type of music you play late at night, and forget your listening.
It's very cold seeming, great as with the glitch stuttering. and the big boom/clicks that play later-wards in the song

Yes it is a pretty song. nice instrument choice. and the tune is really simple but good.
This will shoot to the fav's. It's interesting.

The only bad thing: (not that that song should be change. after-all - if it wasn't it's sort of loosing it's essence). errmm, It's slightly repetitive. thats the all I can think of thats bad.

good climax. good work.

Lapse responds:

Thanks for the listen and the face, Dem.

Great review, too.

Yeah, It's a bit droning, I can see that, as I listen to it again. It's been a while since I've put some ears on this. Droning Lullaby. If I were to ever rework this track, I'd overhaul the thing.

Thanks for the ears. Keep them open.
