I made this over the course of two days, nonstop, with the only interruptions being school and Modern Warfare 2. I think this is my favorite piece as of now, and am really happy with it. Also I just placed 3rd in an art competition, and got 50 bucks, so I'm fairly happy ^_^

Also, I'm drawing stuff....but none of this is related to the song, so I'll stop now.

Happy listens!

Ask, and you shall recieve...

... a review. Like DjMindsweeper, there's a lot of good that I could say (production, energy, direction, woot), but it'd be more helpful to post critiques, right?

The hard panning in the beginning is a little unsettling until the second synth set comes in. I'd suggest taking the panning down until the other instruments come it.

That hat work is nice, but hard to hear. Mix them into the track better by bringing them into the forefront, a little bit.

There are a few places where some production fuzz comes in (the bass strikes at 1:52, for example, are the culprit). Be careful of those moments.

The soundscape, while filling very nicely, begins to get stale after a minute or two. Change it up from time to time to keep the sound fresh.

I'm going to take DjMindsweeper's advice a little further and suggest you add some highs to the master track (not too much, but some). That'll make this track shimmer nicely.

Nice work, though - I enjoyed it quite a bit.

There isn't much I can say...

Rather than fill this space up with all of the good points of the song, (because trust me, there are MANY good things I can say about this song) I'm just going to get right to my suggestions. First, I feel the synths need to be a little quieter, with some more re-verb. Also, that clap would sound better with a touch of re-verb. And on a final note, have you tried using Fruity Parametric EQ 2? I suggest placing that on the synth tracks, and raising the treble, it will make them sound cleaner. Follow it up by placing another one on the kick track, and raising the bass. (not the low bass, mind you, but the regular bass.) And finally, it needs a bass-line to pull it all together. Trust me, I could go on and on about how awesome the melodies are, but if I did, there would be no room left for my suggestions, and that wouldn't help you get any more awesome, now would it? ; )

P.S It is very difficult to tell one how to use the EQ in text form, I suggest looking up a tutorial or two. You can never have too many tutorials!

Thank you for the useful review, it helped a good amount! ^_^ I've used the Parametric EQ 2 a few times, so I know generally how to work it.

love the beat! saved it! keep up the good work!XD
oh and what music program did you use? just wondering

ledgednt responds:

Thanks for the props, and in answer to you question, as Djmindsweeper has noticed, I used FL Studio 9. It's like the best electronic thing I've ever had/used, including videogames, which I am obsessed with.
