I'm trying to create a song hopefully similar to this for an animation I'm making. What tools or software did you use to create this?

A tropical journey from Polynesia to Africa.
This has been floating around for a while, and I decided to submit it to NG to see what you all think. I greatly appreciate feedback!
Oh, and turn it up a little. There are dramatic dynamics. ;-)

Thanks! For this one, Cubase4, Miroslav Philharmonik, VI One, and some presets on Cubase. I've upgraded things since then, and recommend EWQLSO and Stormdrum2, but obviously they aren't absolutely necessary. If you don't have fantastic sounds you will need to experiment a lot more with layering instruments.

A unforgetable journey
First of all, let me state this: Nice job.
I'll try to make a review on each aspect individually, but please, don't expect much, I have few to none musical knowledge, I just know what I like =)
Instruments: 10/10
Of course, with 10/10 I don't really mean perfection, but a remarkable and enjoyable arrange of instruments. The percursion and flutes picked my interest and created a tropical atmosphere. Pretty nice.
Melody: 9/10
Pretty catchy and enjoyable. I'll probably be humming this for a few days now. Thanks a lot, bastard! (just joking, please don't get offended)
Originality: 9/10
Well, the song wasn't surprisingly original, you can hear things like this in almost any wild life documentary, but everything was well executed and didn't sound like a ripoff from an Animal Planet show. "Me likes".
Loopable? Of course
I kept on looping this while writing this review and I'm now ready to finally download the song.
Thanks for the nice job, sorry for not being of much help. All I could do was show my apreciation since I don't have enough musical knowledge to give you tips on this... 5/5 10/10 Keep up the good work and sorry for the bad english, I'm still learning.
