GAS - Alpha Samples Omega

At the beginning of the year, I met OmegaPhantom on the NG Vent. I had watched a couple of his contests take place and saw that a lot of people weren't very happy with the difficulty of their projects based on the samples he gave them.

Being a cocky, arrogant bastard, I assumed that they were all just pussies and didn't know what they were doing. I mean, c'mon, throwing together a bunch of samples to make a battle beat should be pretty easy right?

While I'm pretty sure Omega gave me some of the most obscure, difficult samples he could possibly find in an attempt to stump me, I don't feel that I failed TOO horribly. However, I'm certainly not under the illusion that I did a stupendous job either.

So this track goes out to all of the amazing samplers here on NG that actually DO know what they're doing. Your craft takes a lot of time and talent, and I commend you.

Love it! BBOY Material Right Here Baby!

Yo! I've had this track in my playlist for awhile, and though it's simple, it's beautiful in that sense. This kinda track would be great to breakdance to, even in it's stage like this, something can be done, SOMETHING! Perhaps when I start learning, I will use it, but until then, maybe I can convince some guys to use it during their workouts, and it might even be featured in a vid.

I think maybe adding some more lines and a longer track time might make it more up to a full beat-boy track. Either way, nice work my friend!

Gasmasq responds:

Thank you so much for your kind words. I only put a few hours into this and all the original files are gone, so unless I mess with what's already on the track, I won't be able to finish it.
However, I had more fun with this track than any other beat I've ever made and I intend to do something very similar VERY soon. I'm entering the NG Hip Hop Shoulders of Giants Competition. The deadline is the 20th, so peep it then!
Thanks for the support! You can check out the competition at Big Red's page - http://www.bigred.newgrounds.com

DEcent and FUn!

THE GOOD:This sweet hip hop tune is very catchy, the artist did a great job implementing samples while not going overboard with them. All too often I hear a song that is "Kick Kick Kick...Kick Kick Kick..." repeat repeat repeat until the listener turns it off. Of course perhaps its the fact that the song is only 1:36 that it doesn't get old.
THE BAD:The dialogue at the beginning is too quiet to be intelligible. Would have been nice to hear another instrument accompanying.
THE UGLY: This is my first review. I'll save the ugly comments for later, after I have reviewed 10 songs and feel like being more critical. ;)
