Excellent job. It has a very distinct atmospheric that works well in RPG's. I could see this being a theme for a town or cathedral-esque region.
The only thing that didn't seem catch my fancy was the rather abrupt endings/transitions into the next progression.
The idea was to make it seem like, you worked up for everything, and in the end, you falter. That's how you end up in the slums, right? Haha. . .
