Green Hills Zone - A.COE Mix

There'd be few people who'd disagree with me when I'd call the Master System version of Sonic 2 inferior to the Genesis one. However there was one thing that stood out... the Green Hills Zone theme. God damn... nothing encapsulates the vibe of the early Sonic the Hedgehog games better than this tune.

This track was also reprised for a version of Sonic Drift and the Japanese and European versions of Sonic CD (which was a much better choice than that Sonic Boom crap). Shame about the godawful lyrics of the Sonic CD version entitled: You Can Do Anything.

Anyway, in my opinion this is what music in modern Sonic games should sound like. Let's hope Sonic 4 delivers...

Now I know why I have ears. Awesome remix!!! "If you try, you can do any thing".

its grate

i am glad some one is moaing remixis out of sonic

Haha, I love this! I can't say it really reminds me of Green Hill Zone, but it does sound very Sonic like! And I would listen to this a just a regular song as well! This is so great, they should use it in Sonic 4! (As I suggested here:http://blogs.sega.com/usa/2010/0 6/06/sonic-remix-spotlight-ubergrau/) Sadly, I've only played the old sonic games on gamecube (Sonic Mega Collection). And yes, I LIKE sonic boom. But whatever, we are entitled to our opinions. Anyway, great job, I really love this mix.
Also, I can't figure out what it's saying at the end. ^^;

ACOE responds:

Hey, I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks.

The Sonic Mega Collection didn't have the Master System Sonic games, so the Green Hill Zone you would've heard is far different.

The lyrics at the end are from the Japanese Sonic CD theme. It's blatant Engrish, but I needed to include it just as a tribute sort of thing. The link below shows the song I based this on.

It's Alive.. Again!

I love it.
It reminds me of the Industrial Levels you got on Sonic Hero's, with all the colours. It's bouncy and fresh.

I love it :)
