Hey I'd like to help
ok so I'll keep this review short and sweet! The part before the piano does not seem to have much of a direction until the piano kicks in. I love the piano and it's melody. You could very well improve it by building up more on it and working towarrd that seriouse, bold, and exciting feelings that the piano creates! I love it very much! But it cuts off just when it gets good... :'(
Hey can ya do me a favor and pm me when you finish this or make more like it? :D
Yeah, I don't much like this song besides the ending part. :) I'm going to finish it once my computer is fixed! >:3 Thank you so much for your review! :D I'll pm you as soon as it's finished. :)
For The Love Of Mankind...
Please finish this one!!
Hahaha. All right, I'll finish it just for you! ;D
A feeling indeed...
I see you've made quite a few more submissions since I saw your first two. Just realized how long I've been away from Newgrounds.
Is that a gong at 0:11? Whatever it was, it fits perfectly. Though, right at the end of 0:15 it sounded like the perfect time to jump into the main melody, but it still worked out alright to carry the mood a bit further.
At the end of 0:24 I liked how it scaled up to the higher notes but I wasn't too excited that it dropped back down again. There is another pause at 0:48 and at that point I felt like it was going to keep the mood for too long. 0:57 to 0:58 jumped up way too fast for me, like a trumpet trying crescendo from a soft note and all of a sudden bursts out too loud, but not too noticeable because it keeps the mood.
If I'm not mistaken, I think I heard a small piano blip at 1:04 and I'm not sure if its really needed. The melody that picked up at 1:05 to the end was certainly a nice surprise. The melody is captivating and it got me tripping the entire time thinking I could predict the melody as it went along (but I couldn't). Sounds like you could continue from the end into a faster paced song carrying that melody (could drop the background music and replace it with a counter melody and then straight into a "chorus" melody.
As for the distinct feeling I got out of it, I felt like I was at a temple in Asia up until I randomly got lost in either green hills with a blue sky away from civilization. I like the title, leaves the listener to come up with different scenarios for what distinct means for him or her. For me, it felt like a feeling that was distinguishable from the others, a feeling of admiration of something grand and peaceful.
When I listen to music, things that don't sound right are very clear to me, but then again I could just be hearing things. I feel there is still some room for improvement, but that's up to you (if a composer says the song is finishes, its finished). Sorry for the huge review, I tend to get lost in the song I'm reviewing as I write this and new things pop into my head as I write.. Overall, excellent song and I look forward to future submissions. Keep up the good work. 8/10.
Yeah, that was a gong at 0:11.That's okay, I love long reviews! :D Thank you very much for spending your time reviewing this song! Yes, I do believe it needs a lot of improvement. I just wanted to wait until someone reviewed it so I could see what else I could do with it, haha. :) I'll definitely try to make it better and fix it up. It's just a bit hard to find inspiration sometimes. Especially in a house with screaming and fighting children hahaha.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
