I absolutely loved making this song! Where do i begin.... Well, I guess the cool stuff is that this is probably the most versatile and fxed song i've ever made with garage band... and i got some inspiration from the yu-gi-oh theme song xD (don't worry, my little bro was watching it, brought back good memories). believe it or not, the drum tracks were probably the easiest on this song. i no longer have problems with the drums because of a placement grid on a piano roll i discovered recently, and i just went to town with the drums when i figured that out! Oh, the sax solo was improv :)

12 tracks
- Piano
- 2 bass tracks
- 3 synths tracks
- cool organ track
- 3 drum kits (one of which i like to call the "hiss kit")
- a saxophone (sorry...i can't play it, it's a software one)
- An effected microphone recorded drum pad

All of the tracks were pretty customized, and i learned a lot in the making of this song! Criticize, rate, and enjoy!

(P.S. I'm hoping to figure out how to make songs with FL (sample version), so it may be a long time before i make something new)

Very cool!

I love how its like... Orchestrated... This for some reason reminds me of Yes - Soundchaser. Go listen to it and tell me you don't agree!! lol

lidlurch responds:

huh...lol, go figure, the instrumentation kind of does sound like it! thanks for the review

Fantastic

For a song composed in Garageband, this is definitely a winner. Everyone has said everything else i would have to say, so good job!

lidlurch responds:

thanks!

Dreamy

I like this, it's has a great sense of metallic fantasy. I love how you have a fast paced tune but it never dominates the ambience, I have no idea how you pulled it off especially when you merge a sound with another! The sounds are great and I really like the rolling bass at the start.

A fantastic track all around.

lidlurch responds:

wow...thanks thanks thanks! i was thinking about calling it fusion, but i couldn't get the arpegiating organ synth to go well with the metal piano part at the end. i feel like the ending could have been better, but maybe it's alright the way it is. thanks for the review! what can i say...i love bass xD

yeah

Find yourself a band, man. If you had some real instruments going, this would sound so sweet.

Good in and of itself though, nice work on this :)

Don't really have any complaints to be honest, it's pretty solid all the way through. Sounds like you've taken some music theory, or at least understand it. Am I correct?

~ Almost Technicolor

lidlurch responds:

wow, thanks!! I'm in a band, but everybody's really busy with their own things, so it's been a long time since we had a full rehearsal :P

yeah, i try to master my songs as best i can before i put them up now, and that's helped a ton.

well, i'm in symphonic band, jazz band, and marching band, so i know a thing or two about music, but i mostly make it by ear :P i really want to take music theory next year though.

thanks for the review!!

Good Song

It's not really a song you'd go and listen to but it's perfect for any game or movie. It's very well mastered in my opinion.

Like I said, GREAT song but not something I'd go and listen to for fun. It just seems perfect for a video game as I said.

Nice work!

lidlurch responds:

thanks! yeah, i see what you mean...most of my music isn't stuff anybody would listen to :P but anyways, thanks for the review! i have gotten a ton better with my mastering/ editing skills, and make sure it's perfect before i put it on here, so thanks for noticing. once again, thanks!
