PLEASE LISTEN TO WITH HEADPHONES FOR FULL EXPERIENCE. :)

Your standing at the peak of a very large cliff. You have a black board in your hands. You close your eyes and feel the wind touch your face. You take a few steps back, and begin to run. You jump off of the cliff and attach your feet on the board in one swift movement. Now you ride through the air and move gracefully over the wind. The cliff roars behind you and you dart towards the ground. Just before you hit, you swing into the air and begin to fly on your board. You fly past trees and houses. You fly past a town and move higher into the air. Clouds breeze over your body as you climb higher and higher. Finally, you go past the clouds and see the sun. Birds fly next to you as you grab the wind around you and shoot higher. The birds can not follow you any longer. You climb farther. Finally, you reach the edge of the Ozone layer and shoot out into the emptyness of space. You slowly drift out into the cold and your body turns to ice. Then you dissapear into the black.

I worked on this song for a few months, but most of the time was spent thinking. I got all my instruments made and then began to play different tunes on my Mac Computer Keyboard. I finally started playing the song three days ago and finished it just a few moments before posting it. I used Garageband Version 2.0.2 which really posed a challenge for me because Garageband is a VERY limited program. I used one pre-set drum loop, but changed it drastically. Everything else was played on my Mac Computer Keyboard. If anyone would like to help me create better drums, please help hehe.

Enjoy, review, whatever! :D

Nice.

Nice job dude. Really catchy percussion and synth melody. Also very relaxing. I like your scenario for the song as well.

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

Catchy eh? Thats cool, id never expect anyone to find an ambient tune catchy heh.

Oh thanks for the review dj god. Yeah I didnt figure ambience was your thing haha.

hello

The intro with the super-mellow pad is very beautiful, I like how it kinda morphs from low-frequent hum into tonalty, if you get what I mean. I feel the bright pad kinda disturbs that feeling. You could probably have made a more smooth transition by automating the filter (then again, last time I checked, you can only automate the level and panning in Garageband so it may not be an option. Is that correct?). The drums are a little up front and imo really don't fit. For this song, I think the drums would sound both more relaxing and more powerful if they were played at half speed.

I'm having a bit of a problem with the track after about the first minute... it doesn't feel like the different tracks really play that well together, it's a bit like they wander off and do their own little thing. I think what would really make this track feel tighter and more "complete" it a good, solid bassline and a distinct melody. At the moment, I'm not really feeling it. That may just be me though, since it seems like almost everybody else loves it.

(By the way I could help you out with the drums if you'd like... send me a pm with the .band file or something I guess.)

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

That drum offer sounds awesome, and perhaps playing drums at a 60 tempo would sound awesome thats a good idea. Thanks for the honest review. I am really proud about the buildup. :)

the title and description fits the tune perfectly great job

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:
