Lyrics:
Verse 1:
Sing a little song for me
One that'll make me cry
Just a little melody
To get me through the night

Chorus 1:
I was born on the run
I'm too tired to chase the sun
Eyes wide, no surprise
I need some music
I need some music
From your Golden Mind

Verse 2:
Sing a song of love for me
One that'll make me cry
Or just a little melody
To help me sleep tonight

Chorus 2:
I was born on the run
I'm too tired to chase the sun
Eyes wide, no surprise
I need some music
I need some music
From your Golden Mind

I was looking for one of the main themes from JJBA, but I think I found something better

New

Ive been listening to indie/alternative for years now, but over those years i have not really heard stuff like your personally i find this song to be your best and one thing that i think you should to is make this a 3-4 (or more) minute "Vocal" song but other than that i really really enjoyed this song. P.S. I love British accents, i'm american :D

StickyRemnant responds:

I agree, I think this is the best song of mine uploaded on here ( I think I have better ones yet to be recorded! so stay tuned ;) )
I may make an extended version of this but I'll have to come up with a bridge so that it's not too repetitive. If I do I will upload it.
I'm glad you like it and thx for the fav!

PS. My favourite accent is the "New Yoik" one, especially on women (My cousin Vinny) lol

Awesome

I get this real Nice Beatles feeling at a few points, It's got a bit of a Abbey Road-ish White Album-ish Feeling in a few areas.

The Singing suits the song perfectly, along with the higher notes and I love the reverb and echo.

Overall it's a solid song, one that'd be a higher point of an Album if put in one. Only criticism could just be a bit more of a beat could be nice, some finger clicking at some points would give it a really nice feel

Good stuff

StickyRemnant responds:

Heh, it's funny that you bring the Beatles up. I began writing the song as a kind of ode to Lennon.
I didn't think of trying some clicks. I'll give that a go.

Thanks for the review. It's appreciated.

Intro / Outro put me off

Not a bad tune. Nice work with the instruments and the pace was well balanced with the vocals, which were well sung and the lyrics themselves were well written. What let the piece down was the length of the intro and outro, because these strange noises seemed not to have anything to do with the track and they took up over a minute of time on the track, which for me seemed excessive.

I think that trimming this to maybe 10 seconds would be ample and you would still be able to show the desired effect with the music. With the way that everything has panned out on this track, there is certainly many more positives to take out than negatives, so i look forward to your next work. I'd suggest some drums where it's just the claps, as the clapping for the percussion just doesn't seem to be strong enough. I know you're taking a softly softly approach, but losting the drums might be overkill.

StickyRemnant responds:

I think I will trim the noise parts down. I'll see about trying to make the percussion stand out more. I was planning on eq'ing the claps (and its reverb) some to make them seem abit thicker. I may overlay another clap track over the existing one aswell.

Cheers for the review

Great

A very great song. The intro/outro may be a bit weird, but the rest of the song is just awesome.

I really like the atmosphere the song creates, plus the singer has a great voice. :)

While the songwriting itself may not be that overly complex (some simple chords and the song structure is simple as well) it is very effective. I just couldn't stop listening to this. I just sat there and waited until the song was over. And then I listened to it again because it's so awesome, heh.

Well, not much to critizise here, except maybe that you should cut the outro a bit shorter.

StickyRemnant responds:

Thanks. I'm glad you like it!

I probably will cut the intro and outro noise parts down a bit and I'm thinking of extending the outro drum part by a couple of bars before it fades out.
