Nymphetamine Dropped

Enjoy this cover of Nymphetamine, originally by Cradle of Filth.
I figured I'd post this as my last song of 2009. And, it's not entirely completed (i.e. no whispering in the middle of the song, and there's a few vocal parts near the end that haven't been added, yet. But, with any luck, you shouldn't notice it too much.) Oh, and sorry for the delay in the beginning.
The story behind this, is I heard a version of the song where the pitch was shifted down 8 semitones. So, really, really, low. And, I realized the growling was within my range. That's when I wondered what the song would sound like, if I actually recorded it like that, instead of just dropping the pitch. So, I did. And, now, it's in E minor an octave lower (most of it). Instead of C minor.
And, no, my voice is NOT lowered. I'm really growling every bit of this. No pitch shift was used on anything except to make the second vocals sound higher. Otherwise, it's all my voice/growls.
And that shriek near the end was all me, as well. The only effects I used were reverb, delay, EQ, and...something else. But, no pitch shift.

Now, as to who that lovely voice is, if you haven't heard of her before, you should. http://hania.newgrounds.c om/
Hania is, hands down, one of the most talented professional singers and composers on Newgrounds. And, after befriending her a while back, she most kindly lent her voice and talent for use in this song. Please check out some of her other works on her page.
Hopefully we'll get to hear more of her in some of my future songs.

Lyrics!:

Laid to the river
Midsummer, I waved
A "V" of black swans
On with hope to the grave
And though Red September
With skies fire-paved
I begged you appear
Like a thorn for the holy ones

Cold was my soul
Untold was the pain
I faced when you left me
A rose in the rain....
So I swore to the razor
That never, enchained
Would your dark nails of faith
Be pushed through my veins again

Bared on your tomb
I'm a prayer for your loneliness
And would you ever soon
Come above onto me?
For once upon a time
On the binds of your loneliness
I could always find the slot for your sacred key

Six feet deep is the incision
In my heart, that barless prison
Discoulours all with tunnel vision

Sunsetter...
Nymphetamine

Sick and weak from my condition
This lust, this vampyric addiction
To Her alone in full submission

None better...
Nymphetamine

Nymphetamine, Nymphetamine...
Nymphetamine girl.

Nymphetamine, Nymphetamine...
My Nymphetamine girl.

Wicked with your charm
I'm circled like prey
Back in the forest
Were whispers persuade
More sugar trails
More white lady laid
Than pillars of salt...
(keeping Sodom at at bay)

Fold to my arms
Hold their message away
And dance out to the moon
As we did in those golden days

Christening stars
I remember the way
We were needle and spoon
Mislaid in the burning hay

Bared on your tomb
I'm a prayer for your loneliness
And would you ever soon
Come above onto me?
For once upon a time
On the binds of your loneliness
I could always find the right slot for your sacred key

Six feet deep is the incision
In my heart, that barless prison
Discoulours all with tunnel vision

Sunsetter...
Nymphetamine

Sick and weak from my condition
This lust, this vampyric addiction
To Her alone in full submission

None better...
Nymphetamine

Nymphetamine, Nymphetamine...
Nymphetamine girl.

Nymphetamine, Nymphetamine...
My Nymphetamine girl.

Dude Here Are Some Guresome Lyrics

The time has come at last
For years we have followed the wake of his perilous rule
Serpent of deception you will fall to your knees
When this is all said and done
March my minions for I have freed you from your timeless chambers
I have been dying to see you die
Among all the witnesses to my last words
Your pitiful scheme will fail
You will fail again
If you only knew the harm I've caused
In my journey to cleanse you from this earth
Every first born child I have slaughtered and every virgin I have defiled
Even the blind have seen my blasphemies
The deaf hears my sacrilege
Halt! Fallen one I provoke thee
I created your existence
I can surely cease you of life
So kill yourself
Mindless fool
Your apprentice has expired
Banished to the netherworld from which I have spawned
Where is your sense of tyranny
You can't even keep up with your own kind
My name is scattered amongst those who have feared this day
I am not who you claim me to be
Do you know what you have done
This is what we've become
I sense your pathetic guilt
This is what we've become
How you under estimate the power of denial sickens me
And I reject any last apologies
This is the last time you hear my name
But forever I haunt your dreams of agony
You know my name
I am the fallen one
I am all that is evil
I am diabolical
I am the end.

Aslan-Emanuel responds:

Brutal.

Umm... yes?

As a huge Cradle fan, and a metal fan in general, this was quite terrific! While at first a bit put off by the vocals being so low, I realize I should take them at face value, and they do sound pretty solid. Why this isn't higher up on the metal list, I don't know. 5/5 from me!

Aslan-Emanuel responds:

Wow. Thanks dude! I can understand why the low vocals would sound weird at first. Especially if you don't know why. I decided to screw around with the song, and lowered it 8 semi-tones, and liked how it sounded. Then I thought, "I wonder what it would sound like recorded like this?" So, I did it myself. That's why I have the growls in there. But, the shriek was a must. ;) Any Dani fan would agree.
But, thanks for your support.
I'm actually working on a Gilded C cover (the lyrics are re-written so my parents don't get mad. Lol.) I have the music, but I need to practice the vocals a lot before I can attempt something as awesome as that.
Anyways.

Stay metal and brutal, dude! \m/
And, thanks for the review!

Hhhmm, not bad!

Never seen or heard of you before I looked under the Heavy Metal filter and sure enough your name came up. I have to say that I kind of wish I would have found you sooner. I have to say this is actually a pretty cool song. It's very VERY dark, heavy, and surprisingly sinister but at the same time has a very melodic and heavenly tone to it that carries it through very nicely. The only thing I could really criticize is that the sound quality is a little questionable because it sounds kinda quiet on my end but that could just be my speakers/headphones. I'll be sure to check out the rest of your stuff AND to look up the word Nymphetamine because honestly... I have NO idea what it means xD. Good job, and I look forward to hearing more from you in the future.

- Kevin

Aslan-Emanuel responds:

Holy crap! Thank you so much, dude! This really means a whole lot to me! I'll continue to post quality (emphasis on quality) things on NG. I don't want to disappoint. And, also, unlike some of the other metal artists, I'm not going anywhere. ;)
Stay Brutal and Metal, my friend! \m/

P.S. Nymphetamine is a combination of Nymph/Nympho and Amphetamine/Methamphetamine. So, basically, the most addictive chick/babe you'll ever meet. That's what I think it means, at least.
