Enjoy this cover of Nymphetamine, originally by Cradle of Filth.
I figured I'd post this as my last song of 2009. And, it's not entirely completed (i.e. no whispering in the middle of the song, and there's a few vocal parts near the end that haven't been added, yet. But, with any luck, you shouldn't notice it too much.) Oh, and sorry for the delay in the beginning.
The story behind this, is I heard a version of the song where the pitch was shifted down 8 semitones. So, really, really, low. And, I realized the growling was within my range. That's when I wondered what the song would sound like, if I actually recorded it like that, instead of just dropping the pitch. So, I did. And, now, it's in E minor an octave lower (most of it). Instead of C minor.
And, no, my voice is NOT lowered. I'm really growling every bit of this. No pitch shift was used on anything except to make the second vocals sound higher. Otherwise, it's all my voice/growls.
And that shriek near the end was all me, as well. The only effects I used were reverb, delay, EQ, and...something else. But, no pitch shift.

Umm... yes?

As a huge Cradle fan, and a metal fan in general, this was quite terrific! While at first a bit put off by the vocals being so low, I realize I should take them at face value, and they do sound pretty solid. Why this isn't higher up on the metal list, I don't know. 5/5 from me!

Wow. Thanks dude! I can understand why the low vocals would sound weird at first. Especially if you don't know why. I decided to screw around with the song, and lowered it 8 semi-tones, and liked how it sounded. Then I thought, "I wonder what it would sound like recorded like this?" So, I did it myself. That's why I have the growls in there. But, the shriek was a must. ;) Any Dani fan would agree.
But, thanks for your support.
I'm actually working on a Gilded C cover (the lyrics are re-written so my parents don't get mad. Lol.) I have the music, but I need to practice the vocals a lot before I can attempt something as awesome as that.
Anyways.

Hhhmm, not bad!

Never seen or heard of you before I looked under the Heavy Metal filter and sure enough your name came up. I have to say that I kind of wish I would have found you sooner. I have to say this is actually a pretty cool song. It's very VERY dark, heavy, and surprisingly sinister but at the same time has a very melodic and heavenly tone to it that carries it through very nicely. The only thing I could really criticize is that the sound quality is a little questionable because it sounds kinda quiet on my end but that could just be my speakers/headphones. I'll be sure to check out the rest of your stuff AND to look up the word Nymphetamine because honestly... I have NO idea what it means xD. Good job, and I look forward to hearing more from you in the future.

P.S. Nymphetamine is a combination of Nymph/Nympho and Amphetamine/Methamphetamine. So, basically, the most addictive chick/babe you'll ever meet. That's what I think it means, at least.
