I decided to do a quick remix of Castles in the Sky (Ivan van Dahl) during my Christmas break. Its a relatively lightweight project (~35 patterns) but I added a lot of variation using filters and auto clips.

Also, I drew a lot of inspiration and ideas from MrMilkCarton's mix, so if you enjoy this, I also suggest you check out his. However, I must note that my intention with this was to incorporate some of his ideas into a longer (as well as closer to the original) version.

Also, I will post a link to a detailed Youtube video once uploaded.

considering this was done 3 years ago, this is still a great remix

Very clean sounding remix!

It's very clean and mastered pretty well.. Sounds like generic dance though. This one seems a bit lacking without any vocals though..

9/10 and 5 just because. ^^
Keep up the dance tracks, ok? Looking forward to some original ones! :)

Dfarce responds:

Thanks, I've been in sort of a slump for the past year or so.
Lots of catchy melodies but none that developed into a song.

Hopefully that changes, thanks for listening!

Sick Remix

Only thing i can suggest would be to add another synth line on top, such as the melody from the vocals of the original mix :D

Dfarce responds:

I originally attempted something similar, and tried to do the plucked synth that goes with the melody (in the mix I have at least), but it turned out too be way too complicated for me to try to listen out. Thanks, I appreciate the review.
