-Entry into Represent a country-

Okay, so some of you have probably seen me post this already, and wondering why i don't just re-enter it into the other version. Well I've added a lot, and the first version is waiting on a few reviews. So I will update this one if I do end up making any changes.

So this is essentially the final product, It probably could use a lot of tweaking, but the problem is that I still only have the demo of FL Studio 9 so I cannot save it, so I'm having to start almost from scratch every time i try to make even a small change. Cruel

So this time around I added an intro and outro. Took out a few tracks to even out some of the sound. Added more to the bass "Solo". Panned a couple of instruments so it's a little clearer to hear the individual parts. Eq'd if not all of the tracks. And used a different sound for the percussion overall.

So yeah, this has been a long and tiring project, and can't wait to see how it stands against the other entries. =3

The 8-bit sound is not among my favourite, I must admit, but the track is great on its own terms. It's inventive, original, and boasts an interesting melody. The instruments work well with each other, overlaping and running against each other with a combination of genres that I feel push it further than it's apparent nintendo type inspiration, and yes, the riffs are awesome (I was ready to give you a 9, but as I was writing about the riffs I decided to increment the rating). It's actually more fun with each listen. Some might get turned off by the 8-bit sound (like I was at first), but they should really give it a repeat listen, and see how it sits with them after a while. Congratulations and good luck at the contest !

Kirbyfemur responds:

Wow i got a favorite out of you even with the 8-bityness? Awesome! That sound was partially intended at the same time as not. I was just wanting to try my hand at some sort of electronic music mix.

Anywho I'm glad you liked it, and good luck to you as well!

Very nice man, good job for the tools you've got.

It's got a very nintendo 8bit sound to it, and that bass is cool, deep and heavy. Some nice riffs too.

The bits i'd work on is getting a fuller sound with each instrument, especially the drums.

Very cool, Kudo's. Good luck with RAC! Check mine out when you have the time

Kirbyfemur responds:

My main problem with the drums are the fact that the kck and snare are the best sounding parts i could find in Fl, but the Hi-hat sounds suck balls lol.

And I'd work more on this, Well I probably could still, but the problem is i can't save on Fl so like i said i have to start it over again, so i might fix the drum problem, but accidentally mess up the rest of the instruments in the eq process and wont be able to fix it.

Anyays tanks for the review i'll check yours out. =3
