Blackout: So It Begins

This is the second song I've made in the past week or so. Like I said in the description, this song has some trance and classical influences. The mastering in this song is different from the loop version to put it simply I deleted about half the FX in this version to cut some processing down. I have heard this on headphones, comp speakers, stereo speakers, and car speakers and I would suggest using a woofer because of the subs. It wasn't the same with a headset. As usual the song undergoes some pretty fast and large changes so be ready and open minded. I got some help along the way from Elusion on the choir break.

In other news the Detroit Tigers performed one of the greatest choke acts in the history of major league baseball against the Minnesota Twins last night. Honestly though, It was one of the best games I have ever seen. With that being said the Twins played a hell of a ball game! I'm hoping for a "David vs Goliath" type ending to the Twins Yankees series, which is pretty impossible. Then again the Tigers blew a 7 game lead in the central to the Twins. So what does the word impossible mean to the Twins?

It's okay

It's a nice style. Not one of my favourites but that's just my preference and I won't mark you down for it.

This piece works well together but, I'm not a fan of the broken down bit in the middle just a little too mellow.

Last gripe is it's such a shame about the file size. 6 MB makes it a bit impracticable for Flash work. I wonder how it will sound after some serious compression?

But good job. Great style. Keep 'em comming.

Marks-a-lot responds:

I wasn't to sure about the middle part either, at first. I think I said in the commentary that Elusion made the choir break, so that wasn't really my idea. In the end though I got used to it. compression shouldn't do that much to this track (or any of my tracks) I can kick the bitrate down down to 128 and it wouldn't do anything to the quality. thanks for the review and bringing up the file size problem I never really thought about the flash animators, sorry. One more thank you, thanks

It's on the next level.

Every time I think get your style, you improvise something new or come up with another angle that makes me envious as an artist, but grateful that I have something amazing to put in my iPod. This piece is a stand alone track. - Bone

Glad you think so! and it just keeps getting better

the middle portion...

The middle segment of the song, breakdown and all, blows me away. it's spectacular.

The rest of the song, the first and last thirds of the song, sound kind of rough. it's probably that atonal synth... sounds like it's too loud. and then there's that one lead on top of that which sounds a bit like an electric guitar: the overtones are too overpowering.

As for the bass, nothing bad there... gets the job done. very good drums as well.

Again, that middle section with the choir and bells... it's godlike, I tell you.
keep it up.

Marks-a-lot responds:

Thanks for the review, hope to hear from you again.
