Chrono Trigger - Boss Theme 2

Forgive me. This could be long.

I have a very good ear. I'm pretty sure there's alot of people like that. I'd thought of submitting some of my own works but I decided this was a good first step. I use FL Studio 8 and a large soundFont.

I remember fighting the T-Rex when I fell in love with this track. It took a few attempts to beat it. Long after I was intensively listening to this theme and decided I wanted to get a good orchestral version of it. I compiled it by listening (Trial and error) since I have no experience at reading sheet music. This isn't a great iteration (I made another version - Cannot release it) but I'm confident you will like it. Also took a gander at other CT remakes and give a shout to those who made them especially CandySoup(Battle with Magus sounds Godly).

My sound management is poor and there is a problem with the soundFont's drum output when encoding into a playable file. Apart from that I hope you like it.

Peace... Stevz!

Great job. Minor error here...

Made a nice piece for only going by ear. Almost exactly like the original. Only complaint I would have is that some of the sounds are off; but the sounds that seem off are only minor, and I'm sure since you played by ear, you probably didn't notice it exactly. I'm sure I probably wouldn't lol

My Ruling

Again, superb piece you got here. I do plan to hear more from you. Keep improving, keep playing; just keep it up in general.

spagettio responds:

Oh Mah Gee! Thanks for the optimism.

I need to take some sound management classes with FL Studio. I must do better next time.

Definitely enjoyed

Chrono Trigger happens to be one of my favorite games (and I always enjoy good covers of my favorite VG music). Honestly I thought it turned out fairly nicely, though it felt a little quiet. The instruments for the most part were mixed well nicely, nothing felt like it was overpowering other parts.

I can't really say much else as it is a cover, though that I'm impressed you did this well in earing it out. I hope to see more in the future.

spagettio responds:

Thank you.

It usually does comes down to the overpowering elements. I had alot of trouble with the base instruments (Contra Bass and Tuba) then trying to tweak everything so it can be heard which brings my volume down. I've got to disiplin myself to keep the volume up.

Hopefully my next submission will be ear poppingly loud though it might end up being my own work.
