This song....confuses me. I enjoyed it very much, but the feeling of it changes a lot for a minute and a half. It also sounded very much like game music to me.
I heard the introduction as an end screen for a Zelda-esque game ( I was actually picturing the game over screen from Ocarina of Time as I listened xD)
The middle (starting at approximately :34) reminded me very much of a backing track for a tense dialogue moment, perhaps where the characters are meeting the main antagonist for the first time, or have just lost a friend. Something like that.
Finally the end (beginning at around 1:12) felt almost like a bluesy, dingy city type song. With a bit more speed and some stand-up bass you could get a whole other song out of the last thirty seconds of this one.
As I said though, I liked it very much. My only real complaint is that it feels like you have the makings of an eight minute song (as far as mood and tone goes) crammed into a minute and a half.
Well done. =]
Really? I've been meaning to develop this song into something non-piano. This review was actually really helpful. Sorry for taking so long to respond :p.
I'VE FOUND IT!
I've been looking for a rather sad piece of music to go with my character in a story I have in mind that might possibly evolve into either a flash game or movie. Please please PLEEEASE! do an orchestral version, with instruments like the strings and maybe a few xylophones there is so much you can do with it.
Wow, sorry for the delayed response :P. I may make this song orchestral. We'll see.
Not as sad as I remember...
I remember when you played this. :) Did you record yourself playing? It seems longer also, did you add more?
Anyways, you should add your other one too. :)
I actually wrote it in Fruity Loops because I finally found a good Piano instrument. I Miiiight do the other piano song as well. We'll see... :P
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
