i can never do pinch harmonics i try but i just cant touch the string fast enough. i have a crappy guitar its a blue greg bennet malibu kinda like a fender but anyway its really not that good but it was autographed by Steve Vai wich is pretty cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah that is cool Dood! Thanks for the review!!
let me add
also try to hit the pinch-harmonic about 12 frets worth beyond where you are holding the note on the fretboard. it rings out clearer that way.
Uhhhhhh...Thanks for the tip!...and the good review!!
Fuck me, that was awesome. One question though, near the beginning you make that "Zakk Wylde" scream sound with your guitar, how the fuck do you do that?!
Anyway, it reminded me of Pantera. It was a fucking ace riff. If you're in a band you'll fucking go somewhere with music this good.
I'm planning on getting the band to do this song because the guitarist, Dan, can play much better than I can. The linup so far is me on the drums, a guy called Josiah (who rocks on every instrument) - he plays bass and Dan on guitar.
The scream sound that Zakk uses is called a 'Pinch Harmonic'. This is where you hit the string hard and very, very, very slightly touch the string with your thumb. It must be almost immediatly and a good tip about that is to vibrato the strings like fuck. That's how I successfully did these pinch harmonics here.
Thanks for the cool-as-fuck review Dood! Finally some of my music is getting noticed!
I've been waiting for you to do this man.It sounded awesome it was really clear.Your riffs were heavy and your pinch harmonics were good.The leads were great very few mistakes or pauses they were played well.Can't wait to hear the next part great job and keep writing good tunes.
I was keeping the suspension for you people! ever since the cassette version pt.1 was made a couple of people have been asking for the second part and I wanted to hold it up for a while to do some other stuff. Remember - Good things come to those who wait.
this part was cool. i liked the riffs and the harmonics and stuff. and the sound quality was much better as well. nice job.
Thanks alot Dood! I love the whole of Abyss 901 it truly rocks. I'm gonna have to get on with the final part now...
