Just wanted to try this out, it's the basic 12 bar blues progression (I I I I IV IV I I V IV I I), with a I V IV I progression during the solos.
I can't sing the best, but hey, it's only a WIP. Sort of. I may have to rerecord everything though, and cut down the length. Heh.
a train is leaving town,
i got the why, when, and how;
i'm on board that freighter, runnin' away
to another scorching day;
this home cast me out
so i'm lookin' all around
betrayed by my friends,
i have no means to an end;
tore my wallet away from me,
and i'm lost in a world of nothing's free,
so this train gonna take me to the land
where i can reap by my own hand
watch the smoke in the sky
billow up and save my life,
these railroads never care
whether you are from here or there;
they take you where they go
without a need to know;
i say yeah, the time has come
for me to embark as one
and journey away from this train
so i start without refrain;
off the freighter, i fall into the sand,
and awaken, standing tall, starting again.
the sun shines down on me,
scorching my pale body,
but as i turn more red,
i walk faster, fleeing death,
until i could go no more
and passed out on the road
tumbleweeds passed on by,
leaving me here, high and dry;
the road tore me away
from a place to stay;
i wandered down it for weeks,
barely finding food to eat
but in time it came,
another black freight train;
i hopped on board that night,
and ran again, away from life;
who knows where I will go?
but there are trains, forever more.
And so my tale was,
that I wandered forever in lust
of a world where I could be
a world where i could be free;
i tried to find it, and failed,
living on freight trains was my world.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
