Electronic - Drum N Bass

Author Comments

This is my second Drum 'N' Bass piece, and I really went all out on effects, especially the glitched drums section. I find this to be much better than my Icy Heights song, so please, tell me what you think!

Needs more drums indeed.

Would sound better if it had some more solid and hard kicks. Else, decent.

And by the way, shuffling is a dance where you let your legs and feet glide on the floor to the rythm of the song. Alot of amazing shuffl'ers on youtube.

Yeah, I agree with you. I'm definitely going to return to this song and revamp it. I was listening to it the other day and realized it could use more power, so to speak. As for shuffling, I'll have to look it up. Is it a form of dance done specifically to electronic music or IDM? Annywho, thank you for listening. I always appreciate reviews.

Bass too constant, cant shuffle *twitch*

i love it, but i was expecting something that wouldnt sound like pendulum, mabey beacuse i listen to HeadHunterz and SMF, but its a dissapointment because this song is so, Basy, yet i cant shuffle to it... :(

PearlDrummer516 responds:

I'm confused as to what you're trying to say. Are you trying to say it has too much bass. Also, what is shuffling?

Bass can't be bass without some solid DRUMS!

I find this song quite interesting. Hearing that you're a drummer, it helped a bit more with the song as a whole. Although I did hear the noise in the background from the last commentary, it did not affect me hearing the entire work as a whole. I felt that the drums were the main factor in this piece, and since it was your strength you might as well show it off one way or another.

I'm a musician myself: Although I'm a violinist, I listen to sound very carefully. Whether it's just strings to percussion to even techno/trance/dnb/drums/ etc. I listen to things over and over, dividing the instruments/synthesizer effectc/etc. used to see what the artist used and translate that as to how they organized their work to a whole (consider that as my classical training from then till now, and look how it pays off).

I can understand you've been putting a lot in this, and there's no denying it. All I can ask is either a remix or an extended version of this, and I look forward hearing more of this.

Please keep up the good work. Let me know if you plan to make an album with all of your songs. You know well that I'll be one of the first to purchase it.

PearlDrummer516 responds:

I'm glad you noticed my drumming flare, I actually spent a very large amount of time on the drums in this song, and I'm mighty proud of how it came out. As far as your outlook on music, I find myself the same way. I love listening to everything in the song, because you can then fully appreciate the artist's ideas. I am actually honored to have someone such as you to review my song. You left a great review, and I'm very grateful for that.

You want to hear a remix or an extended version? I may have to come up with something then. I'm actually strongly considering remixing, remastering and revamping ALL of my songs sooner or later. I realize I have a very noticeable difference in my earlier works, compared to my later ones. I am a lot better than I was then, and I don't want to simply drop my old songs. When I follow through with my plan, I might start an album then. I'll certainly keep you updated.

In addition, I would really like to thank you for your support. Someone who is willing to buy my future album is awesome in my book!
