I somewhat forget when I started this, but it was less than five days ago.

A remix of Tiesto's 12 minute song, Forever Today.

I had to shorten this version so that I could upload it with decent quality. I cut off a fair chunk of the intro.

Rendered @ 128kbps

All synths are 3xOsc, minus the piano, which is a soundfont.

I'm really happy with how this turned out, I couldn't have asked for a better bass or lead. :3

The rhythm is quite tight as well in my opinion!

Enjoy!

Long Live Tiesto! :)

Tiesto is a bit to commercial now adays, but i still enjoy his mixes. This was a great remix! I could really feel that beat. I am thinking of using this for the upcoming senior prom... we are having a techno themed prom and its gonna be sweet. *one long trance song ever 5 songs* Anyway, im gonna throw this gem at the music committee and see what they have to say.

GREATS:

Repetetion should only be repetitive if the synth is cacyh, just repeating a beat over and over again gets quite obnoxious. Howeverm you managed to cut off the beat just at the right moment and switch to the classic tiesto build up that ended with of course the beat coming back again with that catchy and addicting synth! WELL DONE!

I could really feel the dance beat to this. I wanted to get up and whipe out some glow sticks. At 4:34 you included another layer of sounds and thats what really got me shaking. Very good buildup skills.

GOODS:

The sounds were very pelasing to the ears. Only a few were slightly annoying, but only a FEW. *some cracks and other organic noises inside the beats*

IMPROVEMENTS: If you want to really experiment with remixing, then you should add a large solo that you created yourself with the main sound the song uses. Like that dudududududud thing that you hear throughout the whole song could easily have another layer of a kickass home made synth you made yourself, adding a completley different and original tune or something to the song while still maintaing that Tiesto beat in the background. Then that would throw some nice variety in your remix.

Although, I am sure you wanted to keep that Tiesto influence by not having TO much variety in there, since Tiesto rarely has a large variety of synths in his songs. Thats just the way he remixes.

Great job! Your sir have talent.

Good times

Typing notes as I listen.

0:37 during the fade in and fade out of strings, I would use bells or something else instead of strings in my opinion.

3:30 friendly trance is enjoyable to listen to. has a feel good quality to it. I like it.

5:00 back to fading strings... I don't like it too much and at 5:50 too much strings with no fade

6:00 same friendly trance... not much variation... but it is a good sound, so its fun to listen to.

I think when listening to feel good trance, the longer you listen, the better it is... so I have no problem with the length of time.

I am really bothered by the fading strings... there has just got to be a better sound to use. I don't know what it was, but it didn't seem to fit.

Nice job. I could listen to the middle all day. 3/8

Kazmo responds:

3/8?

Have you heard the original? I assume you have, since you said 'Good times' in the subject line.

I'd just like to say that 3/5 does not equal 8/10.

The original is quite repetitive, and is actually about the same length if you exclude the string intro.

The "fading strings" fit, I'm sorry you don't like em though. Bells wouldn't fit.

"Friendly trance"...I have no idea what you mean lol

But ya, learn your fractions, and all will be good :P

You're a genius

Dude, you did that with just 3xOsc and a piano soundfont?

Man, i have a lot to learn! :(

Hopefully i can become half as good as you one day, lol.

Where did you learn to do all of that?

Where can I learn to do that? lol

Mad props on this piece man, I must say, you are one very talented person and i will continue to listen to your work as long as your around :)

Yessir!

It took time, I started making trance back in 2006.

I'm sure you'll improve in time man.

I learned it myself, through trial and error.

There's a bunch of tuturials on YouTube, check em out! :P

Thank you very much!
