This is just a work in progress, there are buttload of issues that, if ever completed, needs to be taken care off. The production itself is nowhere near completion.
The beat, however, is the main thing with the song, and yes - it need alot of cleaning up and triggering in the low-end, but bleh, you'll be able to get an idea of how the tune might sound when done. It may actually end up with vocals, we'll see.

Good tweaking
The emotional appeal is prevalent after the melody kicks in, before that it was rough hitting and kinda sinister, then after it sounds like something that'd fit into a story about a detective wandering the streets chasing after a murderer.
Let's see what you turn this into.
Some cleaning up needs to be done, to be sure
But what we got here is something that is already pretty enjoyable, and any further polish would show improvement in an already cool song. The beat needs some fixing on the audio level, and you've mentioned that yourself.
But on the whole, I think that this is a pretty awesome track, and look forward to the final product.
As a matter of preference, I would not have minded if the drum intro was a bit shorter, but that is a minor thing. I really liked it once the instrumentals started kicking in, and loved the percussion-less part towards the latter half.
