This is a song i once composed lyrics for, but i've not had the time to figure out more than a few stanzas. I don't sing them in this version of the song. That said, they are rather important to the feel of the song, so i will try to fully compose lyrics sometime. Here are the lyrics as they stand -- they go with the trumpet melody.
UPDATED LYRICS
i can see the clouds
for the first time in years
cause i've been wandering aimlessly
in this forest of fears
the clouds are a dappled grey
bolts of white lightning streak the skies
but i don't mind the rain drops
roll down the lids of my closed eyes
see i sailed up over the mountain
but then i lost control
and i'm stumbling, fumbling
down towards the cold
wet forest floor of leaves and dirt
i fall face down in that mess
nobody's around to help me up
so i just sit there in distress
till the morning sun brings spiderwebs
of light shine through the leaves
the branches are guards they bar me
from a life that I now dream
see I left my seaside hometown
for days upon days did i fly
but in the end i'd fall just
like a steamboat in the sky
That's all i've got so far -- the lyrics end at about 2:11 on the soundtrack. Feedback on the lyrics or the instrumentation?
