Well, I'm glad DJ Nate is submitting music again, and after hearing his Come Clean remix, I wanted to try making a song with lyrics.

I finally found a decent acapella of Lacuna's Celebrate the Summer. But I had no idea how hard it was going to be syncing it to my music. Seriously, I spent half the time trying to figure out how to fit it in. I'm still a novice at FL Studio, so it really wasn't easy. After three days of tweaking, I still think it's off. And it's a 14 second acapella. I'm sure my slicing isn't great, either.

Nonetheless, I think the tunes I came up with are a little cool.

Again, I can't mix and master to save my life, so I'm sorry if this fails in that area. But when you try to do something, it either ends in success or failure. But it is the attempt itself where you find the true value.

Haha, sorry. I got carried away. I heard that in Okami. Anyway, I really should stop rambling. It's probably detracting from your listening experience.

Good stuff, nice catchy melody.. but you gotta do something about that distortion.. :P. The ping pong'ing delay is sorta odd on the piano in the middle of the song.

The synths sound nice, but I'd tinker em a bit from the preset to match your song's mood. The ending is abrupt, but nice work!

BCCB responds:

Help me with my mixing. =P

not the greatest, but i actually enjoyed it. obviously it needs a lot of work. ALOT but really in the right direction.

BCCB responds:

Yeah, as I said before, I'm still a novice at this whole thing. I really don't know much about music, but I manage to get by with what I know.

Thanks for the review!

I think I see where you were going with this one..

First off, I do enjoy the melodies you created, they were catchy and sounded origninal. . . you did create them, right?
I think that the synths that you used sounded a bit plain. Were they all presets? If so, you should try modifying them yourself, maybe add another oscillator or something. Try experimenting until it sounds just right. Also, if you added more dynamics, the song would "jump out" to the listener. Try to make more sudden contrast in this song and it could be a "real winner".

BCCB responds:

Yeah, the vocals were the only thing I didn't make. The tunes were original.

But you're right on the synths. They're Nexus Presets. I've never experimented with them much, but I'll see what I can do with my next song.

Thanks for the help and the review!

I love the vocals and i love the way they're panned. I also love all the instruments and stuff. I faved it and voted 5/5 and 10/10.

BCCB responds:

Haha, glad you liked it.

I appreciate your support, and thanks for the review!
