Age of Empires IV Theme

This is a tribute (sorta) to the Age of Empires series. I used a picture showing a possible fourth and fith AOE for inspiration (Just google age of empires 4 and you should see it). The fourth AOE game would possibly be a modern warfare kind of game. I tried to make the music fit that theme, and I think it worked out pretty well.

This is AOE4!

This song makes me imagine all soldiers marching to the battlefield!

EagleGuard responds:

Haha, awesome! ^^

Keep in mind though that this piece is old as heck... I might make another some day though :p

Very Nice

The whole piece seems a little hollow though. Perhaps you need more instruments to back it all up. The Age of Empires theme is supposed to be BIG and EPIC. This sounds like 3 or 4 people playing in a garage.

EagleGuard responds:

I know it sounds a bit hollow and I know it isn't that great. However, I made this a long time ago and have become better at writing classical music. Perhaps I'll make another AoE remix some day.

Thanks for the review though ;)

interesting piece! Though it fits more for 16-17th century age of empires.
But no way sounding like music for WW2.
If you want to resemble WW 2 music- look up some orchestra from USSR, Britain or Germany.
You would most likely to hear instruments like trumpets, arny drums, snares, harmonica, army choirs, marching. BTW- great examples would be world war 2 marches - American, German and particularly Soviet (Russian). I know- simulating army Choirs would be a great challenge, but it would be awesome!

Ever played Return to Castle of Wolfenstein? They got pretty good music that resembles the one for ww 2. I love how they pulled it off. They used Orchestra Trumpets (Brasses) pretty often, lots of millitary drums, strings, snares, little bit of piano, chanting choir (for catacombs level), Unique music tracks- for nazi laboratory- they included some sort of distant metal clanking sound.

Anyways, these are my two cents of knowledge to share! ;) I would love to see they make WW2 Age of Empires! Tanks, subs, planes, rocket launchers, armored trains, battleships, trenches, troop transporting trucks.... Would be awesome!

EagleGuard responds:

Haha, thanks for the review ;)

Keep in mind, this piece is pretty old, so that's why it may not sound top notch. At first I tried to make it sound more military than specifically WWII-like, so that may also be the reason that it isn't exactly perfect.

No, I haven't played that game, will look into it, sounds interesting enough. =p

Perhaps I'll redo this one day, to make it sound more WWII-like/realistic.

Love the AoE games and the original theme

You have definately captured this and added a little more. Its short which would be more of like a main menu song. But it does sound like a song for maybe a post apocalyptic world because it does kinda have that depressing yet epic feeling to it. Theres nothing wrong at all with that. Evidently riot king thought so... but anyways, if you can listen to a tune (like this one) and picture the story and scene it sets up and really FEEL it. its a good song. and you totally achieved that

That being said, Battlefield 2142 theme comes to mind cus they did something similar to the original BF theme. But all i would suggest is just to make it loop better or make it longer.

still. 10/10 and 5/5. very cool song

EagleGuard responds:

I made it a bit more dramatic on purpose, seeing as it would be about the First/Second World War. Glad to hear you liked it ;) Thanks for the review!

And perhaps I'll make it a bit longer, one day.

I am a huge fan of AOE ... and tbh i dont wanna play the forth one now if it is going to sound like this :(

EagleGuard responds:

You could atleast give me some criticism and bring forth some arguments instead of just giving me a 0. And I never said I wanted this to be in a future installment of Age of Empires. If you don't like it, that's fine with me. But atleast tell me why you don't like it.
