This isn't a song where you jump up and dance to nor blast with your windows down in your car. It's a song to just sit and think about the guys and gals that leave their families to protect our nation. No matter what political party you're affiliated with, you must give respect to those who are putting aside their comfortable lifestyles for a job that has the highest mortality rate of any other job.

This song is made to tell a story and this is it's story. Listen to the music and read along to the times.

12:04 Our convoy is leaving base.
12:33 Just entered the so called "hot zone" in the city
12:49 The streets are empty, but it's the middle of the day and in one of the busiest parts of the city. Definitely not a good sign
13:19 Front of the line has contact with enemy. Leading vehicle has been hit by an RPG. Enemies are popping up left and right.
13:20 The road has been blocked by debris, convoy has stopped and troops are exiting vehicles to find cover from the incoming bullets.
13:30 Yeah, we're not going anywhere. We are pinned down, we have no exits and things are just warming up. This is looking like an ambush.
13:48 RPG strikes the vehicle I was taking cover behind. I just got thrown back and knocked out.
13:50 I can hear the gunshots from a far. I'm not even sure if I'm alive. All I know is I miss my wife and my kid. I wish I was at home with them, in my arms. God please watch over them and let them know you are there with them because I may not.
14:44 I awake slowly and come to my senses, the fight is still going on after all this time.
14:48 The situation has gotten worse. More men have died and we are surrounded more than ever.
15:00 I pick up my gun, badly bruised, but ready for duty. I can't even hear where the shots are coming from because they're so many being fired.
15:20 What happened to the backup? "They're on their way" I'm not even sure they'll be backing up anybody by the time they get here.
15:49 ABOUT TIME! Our saving grace is here! They have high powered artillery with them and they're lighting those guys up!
16:03 The enemies seem to put a "no quarter" on just us and are disregarding our backup's efforts. They want us dead as some sort of sick revenge.
16:17 Their efforts for vengeance are being dashed. Not one of these guys will be spared.
16:28 It's done. We're free from the assault and now we are left with our dead, our fallen brothers.

The battle has been won, but this war is far from over....

very Morricone

Orchestral music with slightly overdriven guitar reminds me of Ennio Morricone.
Quite a complex structure and orchestration.
What I dislike is:
- the unrealistic sound of the guitar. (if you want I can try to record a real one for you, just PM me).
- the electronix rhythm starting at 2:00, for me is ruining the overall feeling, I would go for a more lo-fi sound or just classical percussion.

The good things are quite obvious, complex structure & orchestration, dynamic changes, good mixing and realistic orchestral sound, tasteful mixing of electro with orchestral and "rock-ish" guitar.
What add a bit more color is using both tonal-functional and modal harmonies.
Cool track to listen, congratz !
