Pyrrhic Victory

I originally called this "Aftermath". I intend to use it in my RPG which is still in the works, and I named it for the time when I intended to use it. A very bleak and mournful ending of a compelling story (here's hoping it comes across as powerfully as I want it too).

I renamed it because I felt that although it made sense to me, the name just couldn't describe the situation for someone who didn't know what I was referring to. So it became "Pyrrhic Victory", which is exactly the setting for which I wrote it. Just so you don't have to look it up, a Pyrrhic Victory is a victory in which the losses on every side of the conflict are equal - and in this case, equally devastating.

I feel that this would work well in a variety of flash movies and games, so feel free to use it, but let me know first (I just like to know what's going on ;) ).

Let the sound and the emotion wash over you...

Enjoy.

Excellent, but could be longer

It could do to be longer, especially if you're using it for the end of your RPG. I think the fact that it loops isn't a problem, actually I like that it loops, but it needs to be longer, in my opinion.

Sounds like it would fit a pyrrhic victory very well. I think it will be a little more moving once I play the game. You know how that is. Ever had a song from an RPG you absolutely LOVE, but wonder, would I have liked it have much if I'd heard it outside of the scene in the game it goes with? I have a feeling I'll like the song more once I experience it within the context of the scene in the game you're using it in. Sounds like a really sad story, if it ends like this.

ObsidianSnow responds:

Thanks for the review, LightRiku. I definitely understand what you're saying, and I appreciate the input. And yes, it does turn out to be sad - like the title of the song implies, the end of the game would definitely be considered a Pyrrhic Victory. (The RPG's production is currently on hold, but "F.A.B.T." will be out eventually - probably not long after a miracle occurs and I actually have time again :P )

Thanks again, LightRiku.

Nice looping track

Awsome loop, I am using this in an animation to be submited in the next couple days, Just a heads up to keep an eye out for it!

ObsidianSnow responds:

haha, I only just saw it, good work! Thanks for the review and use, too. :)

its very good

It could be longer...a loop is not so good for the ending song of an RPG.
However, this is an excellent loop, and projects the image of a desolate battlefield...soldiers lying dead on the cold, hard ground...the battle is won, but few survive to tell...
*Off-topic*
By the way, which RPG are you making/have you made?

ObsidianSnow responds:

In this case it'll have to be a loop, I think... But probably this will be used for credits and not the final cinematic. ;)
The RPG project is on the verge of being kick-started here. Within the next few days I should have a bunch of information about it on my page and the forums, looking for people to help me out with the things I can't do myself... Check my profile in a week or so and you can read all about it. (Maybe convince an experienced friend to help me out, too? ;P )

Thanks for your response, Jak6590. I appreciate it.

Amazing

Over the past couple of days, I've been exploring ambient music, and I must say that this song is one of the best I've heard, and you are certianly a favorite artist.

Keep up the great work!

ObsidianSnow responds:

Woah. Thanks a lot, Oobeedoopskadoobie! (Epic name, btw)
