I really liked this one
the only downside is the actual legnth :( I know it's cos of the contest rules we can't go over 3:50, I had the same problem with my track, but when the contest is over, you should definatly add more to this piece of music (Y)
Thank you ! I will definetly add more.
It's really really great!
I liked everything about it, the choir, the guns in the background (or whatever they were) and my only complain is that it's very sad. Knowing your style, I was expecting a crescendo at the 2:00 mark, it came later and I was not disapointed: clear sounds going higher and higher, and the background faded until there were only bells. But because of the title it's kind of depressing. I listened it again imagining it was named "Angels" or "God loves you" or "Hapiness" (you get my point.. ) and it fit. To quote The Joker: "Why so sad?"
Great job, keep up the good work!!!
PS: Also, all of your songs are very very good and very professional.
Thank you very much !
Very dramatic indeed.
Very well written and orchestrated. It's very dark and dramatic. And certainly does sound a little "futuristic". Would work for something like an apocalyptic future scene in some movie.
I don't know a lot about Romania or its culture or music, so I can't comment about whether or not this fits. But in and of itself it's a very good piece.
Good luck on the contest!
P.S. Check out my submission for the contest too? :D
Thank you ! Well I tried to make a song that is more than just about the culture of a country. The classical elements are pretty much universal. But it's about fear, human nature, the troubled times we live in and where it might lead, standing on the brink of destruction and loss, knowing that salvation is at hand if only we could change. A song for a dark present and an uncertain future for my country and the world.
i'm not usually into classical music that much, but this really appealed to me, the sound feels rich and deep, and carries a lot of feelings, it is quite a mournful tune, but i think maybe you could develop it more, make it a bit longer, and more dramatic, and give it a definate end.
Thank you for reviewing, I appreciate it.
Is Romania such a dark place?
I knew that Romania is not the best developed country but I've never thought that it could be such a dark place - considering this after your music.
The main tone is really dark - the flute-like sound with the deep synths were an awesome start. And the build up too. I liked the small synth-sound in the background. Give a unique feeling to the track.
After the song I imagine a dark and forsaken land where ruins and mechanical, and metal garbage lies everywhere and the people of the land are like pale zombies... is Romania so bad?
After 2:35 starts a great ending - I liked the bell. I think this ending has more potential you could have made it longer and with even bigger sound (using the french-horn samples, like in one of your earlier songs). And I suggest you to use staccato strings if you have proper samples because they can give some more dinamism to the track.
So good job here. I liked the track. I'm not giving it a 10 because you've made better compositions earlier but this is a great piece nonenthless.
Thank you for the review. Well Romania isn't really that bad (though sometimes I'd swear it is), it's just that I have a really dark outlook on life, which helps me do a lot of dark music. This song actually carries some intentional sci-fi undertones, tipical dark future stuff. I wanted it to be a classical song with a hard synth edge. It actually was longer, but the contest rules limited the length to about 4 minutes, and the final movements went past that. Maybe I'll submit it later on. I will keep exploring the song though, thank you for the suggestions.
