so where are the drinks with umbrellas ?
We don't want our drinks to get wet now do we ?
Well anyway, i stumbled upon you listening to unrealdark's "THE EXTRAORDINAIRY", it is extraordinary though. So i listened to a few of your tracks. I like your style, it's kinnda fresh - as in not generic, and that's good.
So let's get to this track, when it started sandy beaches, coctails, sea, sun and people in swimwear came to mind, ahh, ibiza. That was nice. This is more of a house track then trance.
You have a lot of room for improvement though, first off the song is kinnda empty, very little depth, after 0.14 you should add stuff between loops, like subtle percussion hits when a loop ends, a soft filtered snare for example with much reverb to add some depth.
Then the first break is at 0.55, that's way too long, you should make more breaks, they don't necessarily have to be big like that, they can be small subtle breaks like a delayed hat following a reversed cymball crash. Also try using more sweeps, they really help in buildup and add some depth by themselves.
the part from 1.30 - 1.37, didn't really feel like it belongs here, out of place, then later when you mix it in again It wasn't any better.
well with that said, the breaks and buildups that you do ain't bad, i also like the pads that you include occasionally, the melody part that you add at 2.19 that's good and much neaded.
Anyway, you've got some good ideas, you just need some more experience, especially to get rid of that empty feeling. Sorry if it came a little rough, it's just my opinion and you don't have to listen to me, just trying to help mate. Experiment with stuff, try new things, listen carefully to professional music and you'll start to see what's what.
Best way to improve is to keep makin music, see ya later, my drink is getting wet. 7/10 3/5
thanks for the very detailed review and yes i'll be taking what you said into consideration. as you can tell im still very new to making music. I'm hoping with people like you who give really good constructive criticism help me become better at doing what i love!
Thanks I'm glad you liked it!
