Mixed Feelings

After listening through it, I will have to agree with Aldebaron's view on how it seems like it's mixed tracks all in one. From how he separated the tracks, I personally enjoyed the first and third part. The flute and ending threw me off, it was really strange. I understand that you want to mix it up to create a less repetitive piece, however, I also believe that it could have been done better. The track seems messy and all over the place. Work on transitions and sticking to one theme a bit more, I think you have some hidden talent in you.

ChineseCommando responds:

Out of every song I've made, the songs that stick to their themes outnumber the songs that don't. Yeah, the flute solo really sucked...And i don't think the talent is "hidden" anymore - listen to my songs The Raid, Full Contact, or The West Of and I think you'll find more enjoyment in those than this piece.

More than one song?

It seems like you have more than one song mixed in here. i didn't love the flute at 1:10, the transition from synth to silence to flute was awkward. The beat at 1:30 was good, but the entire song seemed to be like 4 distinctly different tracks.

Track 1 - 0:00 to 1:09
Track 2 - 1:10 to 1:22 ---flute was weird and didn't go with the next part
Track 3 - 1:22 to 2:12
Track 4 - 2:12 to 4:21 --- this reminded me of Age of Empires II (fyi, it's not really techno)

I'm am giving a 6, for effort. Try to learn how to use fade-ins/outs, don't just end an instrument, it makes your music sound amateurish.

ChineseCommando responds:

Thanks; Well the reason why there's so many "songs" in this piece was because I didn't want my music to be repetitive and probably the fact that I got bored with each sound or something. I think the flute's presence was due to my craving of sentimental themes.
