Apocalyptic Menu Music

A friend of mine by the YouTube alias of CardboardLawyer has a Phoenix Wright Abridged series. His original intro music was "I Fought the Law" by Bobby Fuller. However, Warner Music Group has recently been bumping heads with YouTube, and their contract wasn't renewed. At that point, WMG began muting or deleting any videos with their content on it, including CardboardLawyer's videos. At this point, I decided to see if I could put together a theme for his show.

I was putting somewhat of a chiptune jazz/blues concept together, but I kept running into brick walls. I went over to my Phoenix Wright samples and put together a cool hip-hop song with a few of the samples running through it. I sent it to Zach to see if he could have it as a potential intro in case I didn't get the chiptune blues version done in time, and then I made a few edits (including the removal of the PW samples, aside from the distorted gavel) to make something for Newgrounds. This is the product of those edits. I figured that it'd make a good theme for an apocalyptic game of some sort.

So enjoy the music.

I agree with Geno

It lands perfect for a menu music, for a game.

Thanks, Nightmare.

Very awesome.

Not only menu music, I see this as being music that's played when a villian is monolouging. Keep up the awesome work, man.

Thanks. If any of you guys want to use this for your flash submissions, feel free.

definitely cool

its moody and dark, and yeah perfect for an apoclyptic game menu. like gears or something. i really like this! its like silent hill a little, which is some of my fav music. glad you kept the gavel, even if it is part of this whole other story of how the song came to be. nuts about warner, corprate's clamping down...
the tension of all that comes out in the music. it works really well.
if you remix this at all, i would suggest some reverb on the other drum elements, in addition to the gavel.
and a little more variety with the piano doings would really round out the whole sound. not just that same little five note sample.

NikolaosTheDark responds:

Wow. That's the quickest response I've ever gotten. Thanks for the criticism. I really appreciate it.
