This song would perfectly fit to a horror film.
Keep it up
Thanks for the review mate,
well done, first decent dubstep ive heard on NG ;d
Glad you liked it mate,
Thanks for the review.
Way too #$%!*% Filthy!!!
Hey, just wanted to let you know you blew my freakin mind with this shit. Its my favorite track by far right now...
And it also got me interested in Dubstep. BUT, I was disappointed that the rest of it sounds nothing like this. To me it all sounds vaguely reggae-ish, and too happy...
What was your inspiration for this?
I loved the bass of course, but that offbeat trebly bit is to me what really pulled the whole thing together, in addition to the (chimes?). The quote is very good for the song, and completely matches the overall psyhotic feel of the song. However, after listening to the quote a few times, I noticed hes talking about a mule? That specific part of the song is a small detractor for me, but its nothing big.
Lemme just say I hope you continue your work here, and help take dubstep in a filthier direction!
9/10- Because theres always room for improvement!
Hey man, thanks for the lengthy review.
I guess my inspiration was from going to underground clubs and thinking of what I would like to hear being played... and this song just sort of happened.
The sample is from an old Clint Eastwood western... it could be a first full of dollars. I just remember watching the film and thinking that would make an awesome sample... so I chucked it in there.
I will definitely keep writing dubstep and hope to improve in making far filthier songs than this one.
P.S. If you want to hear some really dirty shit check out 'Koan Sound', 'Bar 9', 'Chasing Shadows'and '16 bit'.
Thanks again, James
My mule doesn't like it when people laugh, either.
I really liked this song. Personally, I think it belongs in Ambient. Great listening to late at night, when the lights are out, and the song is playing, and then THE MONSTERS ARE RIGHT BEHIND YOU AAAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!!!!!
Keep on making music!
Cheers for the review mate. Although I'm not entirely sure this belongs in ambient. I thought, well dubstep is probably closer to industrial then drum and bass so I chucked it in there.
Anyway, tell your mule I've got no beef with him...
Definitely sounds like dubstep, maybe even good oldschool (pre 2006 lol) dubstep.
the dark feel is perfect! the beat is fantastic and the drum sounds themselves are superb. the bass is distinct and even quite original, unlike many dubstep wannabes that rip the same bassline that everybody else does. The samples and their effects actually sound like a nostalgic psy trance hit. loved the horse :)!
Cheers for the review mate. Pleased you liked this one. I know what you mean about the same old dubstep basslines and although it is still that blatant wobble bass I tried to stay clear of the cliche bass melodies.
Thanks for the review mate, you know it's all about that horse ;)
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
