Alright, so I made a song for the little competition Rig and Soro made, and I realised something. Not only was what I did probably my most in depth work, but I really enjoyed working on that song. So when I finnished it, I wanted to work on it more, but it already had guitar. This made me think... Vocals!

Sorry, they arent the best, this was my first time singing or mixing vocals since november, in which I did 1 song (we have eplosive cover), and the last singing I had done before that was a long time ago (billie jean techno cover).

So this is my first original peice singing and recording, and I hope some people dont think it is absolute shit. I did spend 22 hours total recording and mixing the vocals, (13 hours in 1 days) and I am still not happy with them. But I am sick of singing for the moment, so I am giving up.
I am also sad that the vocals kinda take over the entire song, I made them alot quieter than they were originally, but still, it happens.

Anyway, heres the finnished product, it does get better over time, as I got better at singing.

Having listened to the song you submitted before (City Block) I couldn't help but notice how, unfortunately, the voice ruined it for me. I don't mean it in a malicious way, but it's not upto the music's level. Plus, the volume of the voice is slightly loud and is covering the music. I may be a little stingy right now, but another thing I didn't like was the fact that you used a vocoder on a genre that, imho, isn't appropriate for it. Maybe I'm a little conservative about jazz ;o).

If I exclude the voice, this would've been my opinion:

0:32-1:02 very catchy and nice.

1:04-1:11 very pleasant transition (the piano is beautiful)

1:12-1:35 was orgasmic. I wish I could have enough skill to make it sound music that way too. The trumpet in general is breath-taking.

1:36-1:52 Paso Doble? Interesting (especially with the trumpet).

2:18-2:24 Didn't like the guitar sound there. Too much plucking that sounded a bit too fake.

2:25-2:40 Nice, nice, nice. The guitars were working together in an amazing way. I also loved the drum build-up there.

Nice. Everything seemed so real (except some very few exception as before mentioned). How the hell do you do it? The drum beats are fantastic and I'm trying to learn the pattern. I noticed that it doesn't change (pieces of the beat tend to come and go alternatively but no change in the structure), but it sounds so good that it doesn't need to :o). (Excluding the voice) You successfully improved City Block.

Without voice: 10/10

With voice: 7/10 (sorry)

Looking forward to listening to your next creations ;o).

MusicIsBliss responds:

wow thanks for the review, there is also a non vocal version because i agree about the vocals.
the reason they are bad is because i cant really sing, but love to do it, so it takes alot to make my singing not suck.

and the drums are like that because they are pre-done drum loops, about 4 layered overtop of eachother and changed a bit

Nice mate

Thanks for my review on "Final Goodbye" This is a nice catchy song, love the robotic effect on your voice... and why oh why is there no other reviews on this song? I can tell you put alot of work into it... It appears you only get reviews on this website if you make a "8 bit remix" of a supermario or sonic song... Quite sad really how songs like this just slide past. 5/5

MusicIsBliss responds:

haha yeah, well, thats what happens. I mean, it IS a site for flash, and not audio, so i am fine with it

but hey, thanks for the review man!
