Embracing Oblivion

Author Comments

This is a classical track I've been working on for some time until finally deciding to submit it. The theme of this song is summed up nicely by the following quote :

"Sing then the core of dark and absolute oblivion where the soul at last is lost in utter peace."
-D.H. Lawrence

Hope you enjoy !

UPDATE 28.02.2009 -- Altered the ending since it seems to have drawn in a lot of complaints, which resulted in an addition of about 1 minute to the original song.

Nice vibe

So this one had a nice vibe you really had a cool tune here it goes well from key to key nice mixture of sounds and really made this jump out at you I think as some improvement you could do more of an intense build up but anyways geat work here

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and I'm happy you enjoyed it !

Amazing

you never cease to amaze me this just like many other of songs of yours made me feel happy and just extremely relaxed it was calm through the whole thing but not a dull boring calm but an exciting calm that is just perfect its hard to explain but i just love this beautiful music you produce

popraz responds:

Thank you so much. I try to write music from the heart, not just stuff to be used in flash or games. I need to write music as a part of who I am. The music I write is a part of my soul. Thank you again for the kind words.

Amazing

I admit that I don't know very much about music, so if you're looking for technical constructive criticism, then I apologize as I know nothing of the vocabulary. Perhaps then, this also implies that the beauty within the more subtle portions of this piece may also lost upon me, but I'd like to imagine that not all of is lost; What I do know is that as your piece unwound I - a longtime listener on Newgrounds - became compelled for the first time to sign up in order to write this review.

From 1:05 to 1:18: I smiled - the kind that will most definitely leave me with eye-wrinkles when I'm older yet, nevertheless, I thank you for it. Please keep composing!

popraz responds:

Thank you for the awesome compliment. It's not just tehnical criticism I want for my music, but the kind of emotional reaction that you've experienced. That is the best indication that I'm doing something right. I'm happy this song made you smile. Thank you for listening !

man this is too good

you could write scores for movies. you could write scores for orchestras. you are absolutely phenomenal when it comes to strings and choirs and all that good stuff. i love it man. keep up the great work

popraz responds:

Thank you very much !

Wonderful work.

Just like many of your other pieces, this one shows a good deal of emotion; which honestly, nowadays is a rare thing to find in a song.

And despite the depressing tone, it still has a calming effect on me.

I would give you tips on what to add/take out but, I have no musical talent whatsoever (lol), all I can say is please keep it up and I'm looking forward to your next masterpiece.
