So, I decided to once again read a little on music theory. And on my first Google-search, I found exactly what I was looking for. Namely, "http://www.musictheory.n et/".
There I learned many new things, especially about chords; what the tones are called and how they can be modified or inverted in order to sound differently.
I immediately decided to try putting this knowledge to use.

Although this is far from perfect, I kind of like it. Probably because it doesn't feel like an experiment, but rather like some kind of attempt to gain control over the music. I know which key I wrote it in, and I know the exact technique I used to build the chords. I also knew exactly how the bass line would sound right after I wrote down the chords.
Hopefeully, I'll also be able to finish it someday, to make it perfect =)
