First off, just wanted to say Hip-Hop is not my prominent genre, so keep it in mind if it seems like my review doesn't make sense :P

Alright. Firstly I would like to say that the scratches at the beginning really made it seem authentic. And what I mean by that is that it really makes it fit into its genre - which is a good thing. The strings were really nicely done, if not a little repetive (-1 point).

The beat's groove was really well done - that is the sequencing and placement of your drums, and such - however, I did NOT like the samples you used. They seemed a little bit too punchy for hip-hop. The samples you used would probably be found in a trance or house track with a blaring kick and a punchy snare in a four to the floor beat. They just don't seem to work with hip-hop - and that's just opinion. So some may consider it a good thing that you're going against the grain and being unique, but I'm sorry to say that the samples really made me cringe when they're used in this style. (-1 point) If I was a hip-hop artist, I might have a different take on the whole thing, but I'm not. I would also point you in the direction of some good hip-hop samples probably, but I don't know of any off the top of my head.

The piano was probably my favourite part of the whole song, and actually sounded VERY professionally done. You certainly know your scales fairly well! You take lessons? If you do, it definitely shows, the score was RIGHT on with the rest of the progression!

Mixing was satisfactory, nothing AMAZING, but it wasn't bad either.

Sorry if I came off as harsh for anything said above, but I'm just expressing my opinion and offering a suggestion of what I would do.
