Hey,
Well it's been a trying time trying to get what I needed to build this track, but I finally have the wood work for this track nearly laid out! This is not the finished production but a similarly close enough build to the real deal. Both previous versions of the track (both the jazzy version and the original build) have been deleted. This version will stay on Newgrounds till some other changes occur (like the finished product maybe *wink*)

Regardless, I got a few request on what i did to build this. Well a lot went into it so I can't tell you EVERY thing lol. A magician is not SUPPOSE to reveal his tricks, but anywayz....

The track was recorded in Nuendo along side Reason software. The hardware used is a RME Fireface 800 which is also supplying more channels via lightpipe to my Presonus Digimax D8. VSTi's were used accordingly including Atmosphere and Turntableist ect, but the majority of the track was built using my Triton LE Keyboard. I do have other microphones and had previously recorded a Djembe drum using 2 Audix mics (D2 and D6) and 1 MXL 990 Mic for the room; a video that you can find on my YouTube page soon (THE RECORDING ON THERE NOW IS FROM ANOTHER SESSION! I RECORDED THAT DAY AWKWARD BECAUSE IT WAS MY FIRST TIME MICING IT UP!:

We just recently got a 3 rack tom set with wind chimes and a crash. I manually played that as well. I did have enough mics to mic every single drum, but there really was no point to it considering the free rack wasn't a considerably deep drum. Plus I didn't need all that information from the heads anyway. So in any case, I used my MXL 991 to mic the entire rack. I only had one so I couldn't dual mic for a nice overhead mix but it didn't come out bad! You can hear the results of that recording in the intro and in pieces around the rest of the track.

Most instruments were fed through an external compressor and fed through my Great River MP500NV Preamp (considering that's the only other quality external mic pre I have at the moment lol.

That's a nice little overview I guess :)

History:
I had an urge to make a DnB track and wanted to add it on my next CD project. There were other versions of the track previously submitted and are now deleted. Considering my musician background is highly influenced by Jazz, the track at first came off too jazzy and didn't really fit the bill as an authentic dnb club bangger. So I went back and totally redid the track after listening to some DnB references (one in particular by the name of THC -> http://profile.myspace.co m/index.cfm?fuseaction=us er.viewProfile&friendID=9 4051459 )

I'm really not sure if I nailed the DnB vibe, but the result of what I got I feel is enough to "jump off" and pretty close. The track also needed to be thematic in accordance to the rest of the CD hence it's "major" tones.

Final Note:
I'd like to thank everyone who helped me get this far here on Newgrounds, on HomeRecording.org, on FutureProducers.com, on Recording.org, and others! You guys have been a major help and I hope to again to another "DnB Inspired" production....hell mabe even an album if deemed worthy.

This is still not a mixed version of the track. A small sub mix was provided during tracking though and has been tested pretty well over air but not 100%.

Be sure to keep eye on this and more tracks coming from your favorite voice acting musician; me!

Take Care and Enjoy!

FINALLY! LOL

Thats nice

That is quite a list of gear you got there!

Surely did not expect that. I like the track. It still misses some structure and it sounds a bit dry concerning the mix Some more additive FX would be in place.

Catch ya later

XTREEMMAK responds:

Gotcha. I'll check into that. I was just thinking about more lines to add as well while driving today lol.

Thanks for the help man! I really appreciate it :)

YES

YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAA.....
keep it going and dont stop xD

XTREEMMAK responds:

No doubt! lol Thanks man! Glad you liked it :D
