Here's the first song I ever wrote in garage band.

Its a tragic story of a cat cut down in his prime time. There are lyrics, but I'm not singing them in this version. The vocal melody parallels the string melody, and each line break signifies a change in the bass, so you should be able to follow along.

Verse 1(starts around 55 sec, with the drums)

Golden waves of
velvet fur that
sulk in summer's
Whisper softly
gentle purs that
soak my comfort

Roll in the
clouds and
sleep amongst the

Drift off to e-
ternal resting

Whiskers, my bristly
buddy, those stripes will
never fade for
Whisker's, I'll always
miss you, even if
you don't remember

So just look lazy
dumb and slow your
wisdom knows no bounds
You've seen it all its
time to call you
in one final time

Verse 2

Sheperd of an
endless flock of
sheep while Im
asleep, you

always had a
way to pet me
back with your front

Post up on the
porch, one last
glimpse for feline
kind (Don't)

Worry, close your
eyes as we part

Bridge 2

Ash to ash and dust to dust
We'll plant this bush and when its lush\
It'll stand for all you meant to us
You ended in a pet furnace

Life begins again someday
Just stay true don't run astray
What else is there left to say

Ode to a cat...

Something for Barbara Streisand to sing about... you should send her the song along with the lyrics :D

Very nice and soothing music. I really like the drums and percussive works in this. I loved the part from 2:45 up to 3:10. Then after the silence , i didn't really enjoy the brass hits, i feel it doesn't belong there except from 5:02 till the end where it does sound really neat.

Great work overall, you're a pretty god musician but you probably know that already. Keep it up RGH.

RyeGuyHead responds:

that typo is awesome! My musician skills are godly though...

I like this soothing tune. And yes, I will hum this all day now with the presence of my cat...I hope lyrics are out soon so I can sing this without sounding tone deaf.

Really good.

I felt that this was a very relaxing song to listen to. Something that would probably help put you to sleep if you needed it. I wouldn't mind hearing the version with lyrics because it looks like it would turn out kind of funny with the lyrics that you had. Great song though and it's great for just sitting down and relaxing. (Without the lyrics at least)

Overall - You should upload the one with lyrics. I wouldn't mind hearing them. Good job all around.
