This is arguably your best work in relation to the Sonny series. It captures all of the desperation of that final Boss fight. Thanks for posting it.
Glad you like it!
I love your music!
But, was this really the same track used in the first Sonny? Somehow I thought you remastered it for Sonny 2...
Oh well, great song!!
This is the piece taken from Sonny 2. The Sonny 1 and 2 boss music is the same piece, I just made the adjustments heard in this version for Sonny 2. Thanks for the review!
this song is great, but it sounds a bit too wet overall
the first four notes in the bass really reminded me of clubbed to death
Balancing the reverbs was pretty tough- I wanted to keep the guitar and drums in the front of the mix, so I had to make everything else a bit wetter. I'll go back and see if I can rework the reverbs for a later release. Thanks for the input, much appreciated!
Choirs = win.
Hmm... for some reason I don't recall having heard the guitar when I played Sonny... did you add them in? O.o Or is my memory just failing me? xD What did you use for the guitar? EWQL stuff again?
My favorite part about this is the choir. As always, I love the use of choirs. But for some reason the choir in this song seems a lot weaker than the choirs in Four Champions. Also... the overall volume of the song seems a lot quieter than what you have in Heroic Confrontation. Was that to preserve dynamics? Because I kind of think you could raise the volume on this a little without adversely affecting the song.
Either way great song, and a good part of the Sonny soundtrack.
I just uploaded a new version, and the choirs a brought out more. They aren't going to have to same impact as in Four Brave Champions because they serve a different purpose. In Four Brave Champions the choirs stood at the front of the piece to pump up the listener. Here, they're much more supportive, giving a eerie color to parts of the piece.
I've also bumped up the volume a bit- but not too much. My old stuff was overly compressed and clipped a bit too much in places- ideally you want the max volume levels to slightly lap over the clipping lines, and I try to adhere to that rule as much as possible. Thanks for the review!
That sounds so epic man!
I know I've heard the music before, but what is Sonny? I can't remember a movie called Sonny...
But great job on the track, it's filled with emotion. Would really fit an epic flash animation.
Sonny 1 and 2 are both flash games. You can find the former on almost any flash site you go to (it's even on Myspace!), and you can find the latter on Armorgames.com.
Thanks for the review!
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
