A while ago I got a school assignment that said we had to reinterpret a work of art into another period in time. And all the audio students very obviously did a remix of something. Well so did I! But instead of taking an old track and making some random house mix from it. I decided to take a track which is already a dance track and make a classical composition out of it.

My school its deadline was rather quick so I wished I had worked on it a bit more but I could not.
Everything is completely rewritten in Reason 4.0 rewired into Logic studio 8.

its based on the all time classic Sandstorm:

If you do not know this track, shame on you :p, but please listen to the original first. Cause it will make a lot more sense. The technique I used is called Ostinato which basically means you build upon one consistent melody. And keep on going.

I tried to write music for alll of the sections of an orchestra but some section were left out during lack of time but also because the mix was getting really hard to control with so many sections joined together.

This is not something I usually do but I figured it was nice to upload for you people to listen to. Its quite intresting in my opinion.

I really hope you will enjoy it. And if there is any questions please ask. All will be answered!

Amazed

When I first started listening I hadn't read your "author comment" and about 30 seconds in I felt this overwhelming sensation of nostalgia. Then I read your comment! HAHA this song reminds me of good times and tons of quarters spent in the arcade.
As for your interpretation on it... Excellent! Brings a sense of discovery and adventure to heart.
Kudos

Glad to hear stuff like this :)

Exactly what it was aimed for as well.

Thanku

Great

At first, i clicked it away after a few seconds, but today i listened to the whole song and i must say "I´m really amazed, this is really GREAT"

SniperSnake19 responds:

haha Glad you gave it a chance :)

Cheers

Epic...

The above statement stands.

On another note, the way you built on the original melody was pretty ingenious . The song was great until the very end, especially the ending bells. Truly magnificent. Keep on making some great music.

SniperSnake19 responds:

Its called Ostinato. Restricting yourself to one melody line and keep building stuff around it.

Glad you liked it.
