Happy New Years! for those who are in Michigan, US time.

So here it is, the first post did really well I can only hope this one does as good. I put a compressor over the whole thing and I feel like it lost some umph so I might go back and fix that. If there is anything else I should change as always let me know in a review. I guess I can say the main lead was inspired by "Attack" by 30 Seconds To Mars, and the rest by Innerpartysystem and Boom Boom Satellites Nothing too close though.

ANY IDEAS FOR A TITLE WOULD BE GREAT TOO. I DON'T LIKE THIS ONE.

dope

the beats are tight, the whole groove of the beat is smooth. great job.

How would you like your steak? Well done...

Very nice song, I've been reading the reviews and listening to the song, not just listening but actually HEARING it. I like it. But as others and yourself have said; it's missing the bang. I don't deal with music as you know, but I'll assume the compressor makes it a tad bit quieter? I'm not sure but maybe its the headset I have on (usually i listen to music with my 5.1surround sound speakers with huge bass) but the drums don't kick as much and don't give me the "boom" i normally get from a DnB song. I love the composition of this as well. Now, only a couple of your songs sound like it was made in some guys basement (they are still good though =D) but this (and many others) sounds like it is a top notch song. Well done, very well done. However, I hope it is just me with the drums. But if it isn't the DnB spirit hasn't landed on this song yet.

Marks-a-lot responds:

Hmm so it appears the kick aint kickin like I though it was kickin....I could change it but I don't want to re post this again, it might piss people off. But I am still going to change it so when I listen to it I can enjoy it more. Thanks for the review, and I am thinking now maybe if I just add more too it and add the adjustments I can just submit it as a different song. There is a high chance I might end up doing that now. Over and out!

Damn

i'm lost for words

but the impression i get from it is one of a virtual trip or adventure
a dream scape of the imagination fused with technology

ass for a title take a many descriptive words from the reviews and play around with them may find a title that way with a lil word play

Marks-a-lot responds:

I'm at a loss for words too...when it comes to the title that is. Thanks for your time.

No ideas for a title, but here's a long review!

I definitely feel the 30 Seconds influence on the lead. Attack's a great track to be inspired by. Love it.
What I really like is your percussion. You did a great job of keeping that interesting and intense through the length of the song.
Also, pretty good job on composing this thing. Most of the instruments fit well, and your transitions are well above par. It loops a bit repetitively at times, but really it's still good. Your panning on the non-percussive instruments was smooth, and truly well done. Though the percussion was monophonic in comparison, which made the track a little less interesting overall. It would have been nice to hear those sick drums rolling around between my stereo channels.

I think I know what you mean about the compressor taking something away from the song. I've personally never had luck with them so I just use a volume envelope to regulate my overall levels. I might also be detecting some compressor-induced clicks through the track. Might possibly be the instrument though. If you have any doubts though go ahead and adjust it. I like it when music feels more natural than what comes out the back end of most compressors I've used, which often leave things sounding forced and lacking in their original character. I'd love to hear what it sounds like after you fix that up!
Despite those couple setbacks, this is still getting a 5 from me - other people ought to be able to hear what you did with this thing. Nice work.

Marks-a-lot responds:

aww man really... I didn't hear any clicks. I normally don't use compressors that much but since I decided to do everything in fruity I didn't really have a choice. Glad you liked it.

Holy Shit!

That was amazing!

TURN UP YOUR VOLUME TO THE MAX WHEN YOU LISTEN TO THIS!

5/5
